Hey, I know all of you are all going through something and I'm sorry about that. I hope everything got better.

My story is I havent had my period in a good 5 months or so and I finally got it back on Sunday. From there, I got horrible cramps and I got a really heavy period. I've been getting blood clots from the size of peas to the size of taffys and I have no idea if this is normal. Just when I thought my period was over (tonight), I was in my room (embarressing enough to say, I was masturbating by touching my clit) and then I literally felt liquid just gush through my vag. And that was when I knew it wasn't discharge, it was blood. Immediatley I climbed in the shower to find about a half cup blood pour out with a blood clot the size of a half a finger come out. It was disgusting.

Hopefully this will all be over soon. :-(

hi guys, so i have never been thorough this before, but my mom has, and i was just researching to see what exactly was causing the blood clots. cause they are litereally the size of a mango. they are huge it scared me. she gets up to chage her pad at least 4 times every half hour. its ridiculous. about 5 months ago she went to check with the doctors to see why she had really long periods. one that would last for 2-3 weeks. they found out that she has a fibroid. at the time i think the doctors said it was 3 cm. she recently went to do another check up and it gre 4 cm. i would suggest some of you to go see the doctors if you dont know why you have really long periods or if you're getting abnormally huge blood clots. goodluck to all of you hope everything gets sorted out!

I am 33 years old. My period started when I was 15 years old. I remember my first period. I was laying on the bathroom floor, vomiting, crying, and holding my belly. I woke up a few hours later on the bathroom floor. I must have passed out from the pain.

Ever since then, I've always had horrible cramps, heavy bleeding, and lots of large clots. I used to be a vegetarian, and exercise religiously. Now, 3 kids later, I am no longer a vegetarian, and I don't exercise very often. My cramps are still the same as they were when I was 15. I tried birth control pills, pamprin, motrin, midol, and tea. Nothing helped me! Only one thing helped.... Acupuncture!

I've always been scared of needles, and I don't know how I ever mustered up the courage to try it, but I did, and they've helped me so much.
I went twice a month, followed their advice, and got needle treatment. They said: Keep my feet warm all the time, no cold or hot foods, room temperature EVERYTHING. Nothing spicy, and drink more water.

I stopped going to acupuncture a year ago. I thought, "Wow, I'm cured"! Then a few months later, my cramps came back. Now I'm back at acupuncture, and feeling better again. I highly suggest you try acupuncture, that is, if you can afford it. If any of you are experiencing what I experienced, nobody should have to suffer like that. Good luck!

Then bam..I've had my period for 7 days of which the last 5 days I've had very heavy bleeding (every hour I change a pad) and a lot of large blood clots. I am losing a lot of blood. Is this normal? Should I see a doctor? I do not have any pain, just a little uncomfortable.

all i will say to these posting is to please come off chicken, beef, and soy!!! the hormones in these meats are affecting women, both young and older... in addition, it is known fact that soy puts additional estrogen in the body over all. if you are already atleast 30 pounds overweight, and the fast is more in the midsection area, you already are producing additional estrogen.. doctors are not going to tell you this.

your body can naturally get rid of the excess through proper diet and exercise. there are natural ways to balance your hormones, especially when it comes to your menstruation.

for me, i truly believe it was taking birth control, eating lots of meat, having an abortion many years ago, and consuming soy products that all together over time caused me to deal with severe cramping and clotting.. as i changed my eating, exercising and vitamin supplements, i have seen a major change... please stay on top of things and research!!!!  your body tells you what is going on and we have to sit down sometimes and truly pay attention.

i hope i have been able to help someone.

Talk to your doctors about your thyroid, and be adamant about them listening to your concerns. It is my understanding that the low thyroid doesn't always show up. Also, consider going with an herbalist, kinisiologist, or using essential oils, and even a nutritionist. I am going into menopause, and was changing about every half hour, couldn't do anythng without the gushing.

Now, after taking herbs for my throid, I am doing much better. if I go without taking my herbs, it reverts back. I don't want to go on a chemical supplement, but for some its ok. I take more magnesium, cut back on red meats, less fatty food, more water, and try to excercise, which is really hard at times.

Dont accept a doctor telling you that its in your head, or not really wanting to listen to you. It is real, it can be fixed.
