About two months ago, I had a bladder infection. I went to the doctor's, got some antibiotics and took them as directed. The infection seemed to go away for about a week before I began feeling a slight discomfort again. I ignored this, thinking it would go away... and for the most part it did. So here I am now, about two months later (maybe closer to a month and a half later), and I'm feeling bloated, gassy, I think I've had a fever for the past few days because I've been hot and sweaty even in the cold, there is slight discomfort.... when I go pee, there is usually a small amount of pink blood. However, this evening I went pee only to discover bright red blood with some small clots when I wiped. It is not my period. I don't know if the previous UTI is connected to the bleeding right now, so what could this be?

When I was a baby, I did have an operation on my kidneys. I am on birth control, and am sexually active with only one partner. I haven't had sex for about three weeks though. I'm not sure if any of that will be useful, but it could help.
Hi there! Blood in the urine can come from any condition that results in infection, inflammation, or injury to the urinary system. The most common causes in people younger than 40 years of age are kidney stones or urinary tract infections. You should probably go back to your doctor. Take care.
