I was checking on youtube and found a doctor who has several videos about Cushing's syndrome/disease. The swelling at the collarbone area as well as swelling and weight gain with fatigue and pain could be symptoms of Cushings. I am going to the doctor to be tested.

Could it be lymphedema?

I have the same thing and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease about a year ago. It is a condition in which your immune system attacks your thyroid, a small gland at the base of your neck below your Adam's apple. May want to be tested for this, but you have to ask for it.

I found exactly what you are describing on both sides of neck, just above collar bone, last night. It feels like there's water inside. I am taking Prednisone & just increased to 60mg yesterday. Anyone else with these symptoms taking Prednisone?

I have the same swelling just above my collarbones. I have put on about 10kg and sleep on my sides with my arms and shoulders scrunched over. I really think weight gain and sleep position is causing the changes. Oh, can't forget ageing as well :)

2/7/17- truth- I developed swelling almost overnight on both sides of my neck above the collarbone. They were/are huge. I was scared as it seemed most of the causes are quite serious. I had no symptoms such as toothache, earache, sore throat etc. that would account for an infection as source of swelling in the area I was very concerned. But I just got back my blood work and white blood cell count is normal. CT scan showed no cancer or benign tumors. They are just "fat pads" and not harmful. I write this so all those that think the worst when they see these pads will not jump to conclusions. cheers, mike f

Did you ever find out what it is?

Have you found out what is causing fluid underneath your callorbone? I have the same symptoms.

That is what my Dr. decided they were.

these pads developed directly over where the lymph nodes in the neck are. So it is logical to assume that is it the lymph nodes swelling or lymphatic fluid pooling. This would be a sign of infection or something much worse. But this fatty tissue forms in the same area so do not assume it is a lymphatic system problem at all.....

I have experienced the same thing for years. When I mentioned it to Dr he dismissed it with no explanation.
