Thanks for telling me about the pixels. I have not gone to see a doctor yet but the optometrist told me to do so, as there would be no clear explanation except ophthalmic migraine or pressure somewhere in the head related to vision.
However, I saw this week an orthodontist who noted that my tongue unconsciously lost the right way to swallow and positioning in general. Which would slightly modify the way my teeth/jaws/lips/neck, and whole body posture interact alltoghether. He told me I should first learn to swallow correctly again by seeing a speech-language pathologist and that I can realistically hope a success. The waiting list long though. Today I must say I didn't see pixels, and since 3 days I try to position my jaw/tongue/body exactly as this specialist is explaining.

I must say the swelling on the clavicles is still there, but I feel much better in general in my mouth jaws and neck. hoping it is not because of some placebo effect. But his theories are fascinating to me, and I can already chew much better.

Also, when going to the toilet and "wipe my rear" I try to avoid leaning forward too much, so that there is less pressure on the back of my eyes.

Have any of you have blood tests as that did flag up a problem for me, read on...
I've a very annoying aching shoulder for several months went to see the doctor who said there was a little swelling round left neck near the thyroid but simply thought some physiotherapy would suffice as neck was rather tense. The physio thought the swelling could have been some sort of infection however after a couple of sessions the swelling got worse and I saw my doctor again. Both sides of the neck were now swelling and left was really visible. He said looks like liquid and had never seen that before, nothing sinister but asked for a blood test and ultrasound scan.
Blood test came back with details of an under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism) - looking at the symptoms they do match what I was getting like the constant pain in shoulder, tiredness, weight gain, tingling in arm, being sensitive to cold and a slow heart rate. On Googling this can lead to Goitre (swelling of the thyroid gland) however that's usually in front of the neck and my doctor never mentioned that.
I will now be taking Levothyroxine for the rest of my life to manage the situation.
I've only just started so I can not be certain that is the answer and I still will have the ultrasound scan so I will update if I get good results.

Can gel packs convince a doctor to have a blood test? Here in my country, when you are not old enough, it is very hard to convince a doctor to have a blood test.

Those who wonder if we are all women: I'm a man, 35. Gel packs appeared 3 months ago. In my case they are not painful at all (yet?). Other new problems occured at the same time: Some rosacea, predictable diahrea when I eat certain things, jaw pain, feeling of being sick almost everyday despite my body temperature is normal; Feels like a slight "poison" feeling in my body.

I mentioned to a specialist (who had no answer) that I found this forum. I got almost laughed at, as if I was an hypocondriac with an internet access. I'll never do it again.

When I show to friends the gel packs, first they think they are muscles, as I have a strong body frame in general, unless they touch them or compare to their own neck/shoulder.

Is there anybody who can see the marks of their teeth along the lateral sides of their tongue?

Glad I saw this as I found the gel like pads on both sides of my lower neck right above the clavicle. I did find out my hormones are out of whack and was hoping that might be the culprit. In fact I was going to ask anyone else if they were in menopause. I'm going to have it checked out in 2 days but I do feel it is related to the menopause and I've also had dizziness (fluid in the middle ear) for a month (today) that I have also read can be hormonal related. This just sucks!

I looked this symptom up because I have swelling on both sides right between neck and collar bone. Appeared suddenly right around the time I felt like I had sore throat and suspected strep or respiratory infection. Never saw a doc because the sore throat went away but I still had that strange taste in my cough flem that I thought could be an infection. Now I see that the infection could cause this swelling
but the infection has seemed to have gone away but not the swelling on both sides. I am concerned
because my husband had kidney cancer that spread to the lung and his neck blew up only on one side. It was much larger though and it didn't hurt him at all. Mine are a bit sore. Afraid to go to doc
and get bad news.

I have one the left and right. The left side is getting larger. Has anyone had the lump aspirated or cut open? I want to suggest it to my doctor. I want to know what they are.

I recently pushed on my gel pack above collar bone and I could instantly hear at the same time an air bubble in the back of my neck, going upwards. I sometimes get to hear air bubbles in the back of my neck but when I'm in bed. I was standing when I pushed on the gel pack.

Doctor verified my gel packs and doesn't know what they are. Blood is OK. Then I saw an ophtalmogist because I often see color pixels and other phenomena in my field of view since the gel packs. My eyes are OK she said. She wants me be to have a brain scan. I'm not sure it would help to know, because I realize I'm also getting alternating problems of very different types. And maybe gelpacks was one of the first. My sleep is bad and hurts. To me it feels more like what seems to be Lyme disease or fibromyalgia. And I think I can control the intensity by what I eat. I don't eat very well. I'm confused now.

I have read this entire thread and this is by far the answer that makes the most sense! I just recently noticed the swelling and will do what you suggested. Thank you Ken.

I had an epidural the night before my swelling began 7 years ago. I was in labour and had an epidural. Woke up the next morning and a HUGE soft swollen lump on left clavicle. Have had flare ups ever since. You are the first person who mentioned an epidural. I have always wondered if it was related. I of course have been tested for everything on the planet and no diagnoses so far.

I have had this swelling for more than a month. Prior to this I've had a high CRP. I have been juicing and exercising to try to bring down the inflammation. Then this pops up - It is on both sides of my clavicle - like soft pads filled with soft fat. Prior to this, I had a lot of pain in my left shoulder. Also, I've had surgery to remove an adenoma from my parathyroid gland. The result of this post-hypoparathyroidism is the high CRP. It was 9 then with diet and exercise it came down to 4. I do feel a difference in health and wellness when I stick to a mostly raw- gluten free diet. All of this takes so much effort it seems like there is no time for anything else. I am a hospice nurse so I am living in my own private hell, thinking about what this could be. Reading the comments helps because I see I'm not alone in this very draining fight! I will be going to the doctor to get a scan to at least eliminate lymph node involvement.

I am female age 40z My collar bone area swelling began the day after an epidural I had while in labour . That was 7 years ago. It continues on and off in form of "flare ups" and never goes a way completely . I have seen specialists and had every test known. I will never give up the search for an answer but as of today still no diagnosis . often times the flareups in this area are so big that they put pressure on my throat and make me feel like I'm choking when I swallow or when I'm trying to sleep. people see my swollen neck and ask what is wrong . My swelling is fluid and soft , no pain to the touch just the feeling of pressure on my neck and throats and as I said sometimes it causes the choking sensation. Bra straps and other tight clothing tend to trap the swelling and make it worse . Please contact me if you ever have any successful diagnoses .

It certainly feels "fatty" and I have gained 35 pounds over the last 4 years - most I've weighed in my life.

Hello All, I thought I would "chime" in on this conversation, as strangely...yesterday I went for a flu shot! Im here at work, and suddenly notice a soft & sore bump or nodule just at the base of my neck over my left collarbone. It feels like a small cyst and seems to roll around. I usually have issues with the glands in jaw swelling right before I get sick. This seemed to emerge out of nowhere, with the exception being that I had my flu shot yesterday. Either it is some kind of reaction to that or I am getting/fighting something. Never had this happen before either. I actually had a full blown blood workup drawn yesterday, so it may be in very good timing. I will keep you informed as to whether or not I *(in-fact) have some sort of infection goin on. Be Well Everyone!

I have had these fat pads for 6 years now, I still have them and have not had any cat cans, MRI's Ultrasounds or blood tests in over 3 years. I was told by a physical therapist who is also a body builder that they are just fat that settled there and they will go down with weight loss. I have lost weight and the size has gone down but they are not completely gone. I want to have them removed surgically.
