You should go to an expert who knows a lot about that. This doesn't mean I'm asking you to go to a doctor. But maybe you should go to a chemist (Chemist Warehouse) and tell a lady that works there your problem and ask them what to do, also tell them you need advice on WHAT TO DO, not WHAT TO BUY. The lady should be telling you what to do in this situation as well as what to buy. You should be drinking a lot of water and eating veggies. Power-walk everyday. I am NOT a mother, but I know a lot about these problems....(because I read a lot of books suggested by doctors...)

Hi,

so...I'm a guy and while I did not have a baby, I did have a similar operation on my stomach to removed cancer which had grown around my lymph nodes, believe me stomach pain was the worst of my worries at the time, yet after 6 years of terrible stomach pains and one small bowel obstruction from scar tissue It's been a pretty wild ride. I can say taking out all inflammatory foods (dairy, wheat, and gluten has made a big difference, a high quality probiotic and P.T. work on my intestines....yes you heard it right, I have p.t. massage who specializes in bowel manipulation make sure my abs and psoas are not too tight and everything has room to move in there.

In addition I believe stephen burhner's book on fasting, holds some great clues to letting the body heal itself....after the body switches over to fat as a fuel on a water fast, it starts to eat all non- essential materials....bacteria, virus, scar tissue, and so on. there is quite a bit of literature to back this up, i think it's about finding someone who is an expert to coach you in something of this nature.

Love your information, very informative. I live with Celiac disease so I can attest to what you say about all. I have started to include a "Green Juice from Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead - The Mean Green Juice". I do this for the first meal of the day (that I eat which is around 1130) and surprisingly keeps me full until around 3, when I have a light snack before supper and for a night snack it is a glass of juice again. I have lost weight as it is like the fast, your body starts to consume the fat and such.
I never knew about the bowel massage though, that's pretty cool and would love to include that into my lifestyle. I may add that some people suffer from a sensitivity to glucose/fructose and don't know which causes loose stools several times a day as well.
Anyways, guest from today, I wish you were a member and I would give a big THANK YOU!

Hi I had a csection 3 years ago After a very long labor most of which was drug free until the midwife made the call to go to the hospital after my water broke. The hospital experience was a lot to be desired and btween the force of the pitocin and the resulting caection -I have had thinner stools and noticeable weight gain around my stomach area. I literally still looked 5 months pregnant. Adhesions from scar tissue have been ruled out though it doesn't take much for me to feel like things just aren't moving along as they should be and often times any kind of abdominal workout left me feeling like someone punched me in the guts and not in a feel good from exersize kind of burn. Hopefully the following info helps some of you - I hired a personal trainer who had background in trauma injuries and conveniently whose wife had 2 csections. After the first crunch he stopped me and asked if I knew I had a seperated abdominal wall also known as desti recti. Turned out my seperation was close to 3 inches apart at the widest point and I was essentially giving myself small temporary hernias when putting stress on the areas. Most if the abdominal work I was doing was on the do not do list for this condition. I have decided to go the natural route to close it up instead of being surgically sewn back together since the hernias seem to recede after I was more aware of what not to do. Within a few weeks I had a dramatic drop in lower back pain, after a couple of months my top part of the belly no longer protrudes over the bottom part , and my bowels move along better though still not like prebaby and my periods are not as uncomfortable. It still opens back up if I do something stupid and have to go back to the square one on the exersizes but I hope the csection is the first and last surgery I will ever have to experience! According to the follow up appointments logs this condition did not exist at least up to 2 months after having the baby. My midwife did inform me that many of her vbacs developed this condition well after the surgery and its not uncommon with csections though it is often understated despite how dramatically it affects your core muscles and those muscles ability to hold everything in and it's not really a surprise if things aren't held in they won't be able to work right. I have been actively combatting the condition since getting educated on it for 4 months now and though its slow going and I probably won't ever return to normal I have been feeling stronger and better than I have since the surgery. If you do a search online a few really great articles come up on how to check for the condition yourself and a few do not do lists as well. Still hoping when my core is fully restated things improve in the intestines but the changes I've had so far have been worth the effort.

I have had two c-sections, 20 months apart. I have always suffered with a little bloat , but now it is way worse and accompanied by LOTS of gas, like every hour, and it could knock you over. I do not have pain, and sometimes I get a little constipated, but the gas and bloating is out of control. NOT normal. I did not read through all of the posts, but my next move is to try the FODMAP diet which is similar to what a gentleman had mentioned ...staying away from the anti-inflammatory type foods. It may be worth a shot....

Hi my name is Carlette. I live in as Texas. If I'm not mistaking they are supposed to keep you in the hospital after a c section until you have a bowel movement to make sure nothing went wrong or is wrong. For me every day at least six times a day for 3 days they asked if I had a bowel movement and I would say no I haven't yet. It was just to painful and it was stuck. If I hadn't lied to them on my release day I would of stayed in there until I made a bowel movement. U should look into it cause if its as painful as it sounds something may be wrong. Don't just get one opinion from one doctor.

Hey, I'm 23, I had my son in 2007 via emergency c-section. A few months afterwards I started getting immensely painful back aches. I didnt understand what was going on, so I tried painkillers to see if it was something simple. They didn't work, the pain got so bad that I went to the ER, the doctors there didn't have a clue was going on and sent me home with some lidacane patches for my back, and told me to try a heating pad. Well the heating pad did work but I also noticed that it helped when I passed gas. So adjusting my diet, the pain lessened but It did come back every once in a while over the past 6years. So in May of this year I had another c-section to my daughter. She is now 7months old and the back pain has come back with a vengence.. ive been in almost constant pain for the past 5 days. It gets to a point where I can walk around and do simple stuff but I feel the pressure in my back. its like taunting me.. However this time.. the heating pad isnt working.. Im running out of options and I am looking for some serious help with this. Does anyone have anything that I could try?

So two years ago I had my first csection I went back to work just 4 weeks after I felt great soon after I started having stomach pains on my left side and they would get so bad I thought I could pass out after a year of suffering I finically made a appt with a obgyn they first thought maybe it was my ovaries and possibly a cyst so I had a larcoscopy well they found nothing and there was no scar tissue and everything looked good... I was bummed I wish something was found out after having to go under so I continued to have pains on my side other side effects gas constipation then all the sudden diarrhea serve anxiety and chronic fatigue and I pee every two seconds ... My stomach was hurting really bad and I thought well maybe it's a kidney stone so I went to the er and they did a cat scan and it showed my intestines were inflamed. So finally after two years I found the route of the pain I've seen a gastro dr and from the cat scan he can tell me I have a lower bowl obstruction and I have to have a colonoscopy and enteroscopy. Not sure what it is yet but I do believe it's from csection and I can not wait to figure out this god damn mystery pain

Hi did you ever figure it out after the colonoscopy ? I had a c-section 2.5 years ago then a year and a half ago I had a dermoid cyst removed on my right ovary via laparotomy. I had bad constipation when pregnant and everything just kind of stayed. I admit my diet to be poor lots of stress and sitting job. About 3 months ago I went to the Er with abdominal pain they did a ct scan and found me to have diverticulitis. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy in 3 weeks and am terrified it may be cancer instead of the diverticulitis. I did have some blood on paper a few times but thought it was because of large stools. I used to get a lot of bloating but have been trying to keep up with a fiber diet which is helping. Have been getting cramps from time to time but nothing major. Lots of gas though and very nervous.

I have also had a c-section only because I had placenta privia it was my worst nightmare because I had three natural births before it, but now my stomache is always swollen and I have trouble going the toilet all the time and I think it is because of my c-section xx

I have been told the pain in your back after a c-section is due to the apertural if I have spelt it right, some people have been crippled by it

I am experiencing the same symorons since my second c section, I have constipation, pain and cramps in my back and abdomen, although the stool is very soft I cannot get it out, when I keep trying I get thin stool, I feel I am bloated, and sometimes there is blood in the stool, I made a CT scan it did not show anything, the doctors can not diagnose my illness, I am very depressed. Did you get any diagnosis?

Im 6 months post csection. Everything was fine and felt my recovery went well. Over the last 6 weeks i have a feeling of pressure in my bowels and bladder, sometimes its hard to pee or poop. With a bit of pain to go along with it. Ive been for like 20 pee tests, blood work, ultrasound, and to my gyno, been put on weeks of antibiotics and yeast infection meds. Im so frustrated, nothing is making it better and i feel like they think im making it up. Its nice to see other people who feel my pain, although i dont wish it on anyone!
