Hi there! I'm Mel 26yrs old with 2month old Everything went perfect with c section Healed up quick Experienced some stomach pain when eating every now and again and sex was painful, but I thought that was just to be expected. Recently, everytime I go to the toilet (even to just wee) I have found that when I wipe there's some poo there as well and when I do pass a poo, it's painful and there's some blood. I was starting to think haemorrhoids, but you are right, it doesn't make sense. I know this is an older thread, but I suppose I'm just wondering how you are traveling with it?? Has there been any resolution for you? Sex is also extremely painful and I have none to low sex drive. Just want to feel normal again. Oh and back pain builds up during the day and by the time night time comes around, I can barely stand up. I'm too scared to ask other mothers I know about it. Xx

Dear courageous and suffering women. Do not give up! I am a certified nurse-midwife and also a mom of a 2 1/2 yr old son born by unplanned c-section after pushing. I suffered with severe lethargy, back aches and body pain, severe unrelenting bloating, irregular bowel movements depending on what foods or supplements I used, and of course depression from all of the above! I tried everything I knew and researched. I have since begun studying functional medicine and continue to explore remedies of lifestyle to normalize MY body so I can enjoy life again. I did have a Lymes disease diagnosis as well as low cortisol (adrenal fatigue), and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). But i treated all of these and still have bloating. However it is largely dependent on what I eat. My energy level and body aches have improved drastically and allows me to play with my son and be the wife an mom I want to be. So for ENCOURAGEMENT, i want to share hope of what HAS helped. Fiber made things worse for me. I did a 21 day liquid diet that relieved all bloating broth and Bullet proof coffee/tea (google it) only, not fruit or veggie juice. But I was not a cure. Bloating returned with regular food. Now I keep it at bay by replacing a meal (breakfast for me) with Bulletproof coffee, eating very little raw veggies and fruit (I know, I used to eat simar to the Hallelujah diet. But I had to figure out what worked for ME and not what even natural gurus say), meat once or twice a day, red meat only once a day(meat takes long to digest) and DIGESTIVE ENZYMES each and every meal and snack. I recommend Enzymetica's digest gold. I just started trying two enzymes in the morning on an empty stomach to see if it will help digest old stuck food and bacteria. It seems to help. Also research food combining. I also have the opinion adhesions are causing my uterus to retroflex and press on my bowel. I have the same feeling of needing to pass more BM but nothing is there. Try massaging your abdomen in downward and clockwise motions once or twice daily to break up the scar tissue gradually over time. This also helps stool to pass around Adhesions. The vibration you feel I believe is from liquid stool tryin to pass through a structure of small bowel formed by an adhesion. See a functional medicine provider for more help. Painful Bleeding with stools could be from a rectal fissure if not a hemorrhoid (which is still possible after a c-section from the pressure). Fissures take a long time to heal. Put Vaseline up inside with your finger before and after every bowel movement. Keep stool soft with measures you know work for you. Back pain can be from the spinal anesthesia. This should improve with time. It may take a long time. Do not give up! The most effective solution though for me was daily and continual prayer over my body declaring healing in Jesus Christ and asking for Gods redemption of my body, while also-I know...- thanking Him for the trial. Because I have been humbled, learned to rely on him so much, and look, now I can help lovely women like you. Blessings in Christ!

I'm 31 year old female about 3 months post c-section (2nd one) and started having various GI problems, constipation, diarrhea, gas, burping, pain in stomach after I eat etc. Wishing this wasn't "a thing".

I don't know if mine is constipation but I do have the similar pains. I had my first c-section 7 years ago because my daughter was breach. After my daughter was taken out of the room I heard my Dr and nurses bragging that they were able to have me open, baby delivered, and closed in 15 minutes. I think my daighter was more concerned with his speed than with me. My incision literally hurt for years. Directly after the surgery I was in so much pain I couldn't get on my bed so I slept on the couch. My husband had to lift me on and off the toilet because the pain was too much. I felt on fire inside. I passed many rather large clots. I begged to go back to the hospital. He told me to call the hospital and ask. So I did. They told me to it was normal. I remember my daughter crying at night in the bassinet. I stuggled to lift myself off the couch. Tried repeatedly to wake my husband with no luck. I remember crying because lifting her hurt so bad but I didn't know what else to do. The experience makes me sad to think back on. Months later I started having these intense stomach pains when I had a bowl movement. I grab my stomach or something else and hold tight hoping it will help ease the pain but never such luck. It almost feels like I can feel it passing down my tubes and it hurts. It isn't always the same every bowl movement I take. It only hurts this bad about once a month or so. The only thing I can imagine to feel this much pain would be labor pains.

Since my first csection, I've had a second with my next. I had the most wonderful dr. She cut out all the scar tissue from my previous csection. Now it doesn't feel like a hard object under my skin all across the incision. She took her time. Removed cysts I didn't know I had. The recovery was night and day. I went home from the hospital and could care for both children without assistance. My husband had to return to work directly after being released and we did not live within state of family.

I am forever grateful for what my second dr did. However, bowl pains still persist and I believe it is because of an error on part of my first dr. His speed was more important than my care.

Hi ladies. I had a c section 11 1/2 years ago. I had a paralytic bowel two days later. Since then I've had chronic constipation that just keeps getting worse. I've had to have enemas and all sorts. My doctor refuses to refer me to a specialist. I'm in so much pain every time I go, which is only once or twice a week if I'm lucky.
