I have been having breakthrough vaginal bleeding between menstrual periods for last two months. I have recently changed brand of contraceptive pills that I was using for almost a year, and I suspect that this caused the breakthrough vaginal bleeding. I will go to see gynecologist, but I am interested to hear similar experiences.
I experienced breakthrough vaginal bleeding a few months ago. I had infection of the uterus which caused breakthrough vaginal bleeding. It is likely that with change of contraceptive pill your hormones became imbalanced. Hormonal imbalances are by far the most common cause. Try to explain your problem to gynecologist. I had to go trough physical exam, did smear test, ultrasound too. There is no use to tell you my treatment because treatments depend on cause, but I suppose that will be some hormone treatment in your case. Take care.
