breastfeeding and smoking pot

hi to answer the question in no way do i think smoking while pregnent or after is a problem at all...my wife and i have a 17 month old son he can say around 15 words clearly he was walking at 9 and a half months and is already learning how to use the potty so i see no problems with smoking but deffintly don't do it in the same room i just thinks its bad :)

Well I smoked during my whole pregnancy and my daughter is very healthy and intelligent she has never had any problems we've been to the emergency room twice in her life and it was for fevers she was talking at nine months and knew her ABCs and how to count at 11 months my daughter just made 7 and she is a smart first grader who reads and writes on a fourth grade level she speaks spanish very well and knows more about the internet than I. I am pregnant now and I decided not to smoke with this child and thats only because I want to breastfeed and I have heard that smoking while breastfeeding is worst than smoking while pregnant. I love my child and would never do anything that I think is harmful to her life nor my unborn childs life I hate how all you non smokers are quick to judge someone for what they do or have done its none of your business anyway she was looking for advice not criticism.

I smoked pot throughout my whole pregnancy it was the only way I could eat without throwing up, and my child is smart, intelligent, and very healthy shes a first grader reading and writing on a fourth grade level shes smarter than kids whos parents didnt smoke even her cousins who I know for sure their mothers didnt smoke I am carrying now and I decided not to smoke with this one even tho its been hard to eat anything i'm still trying I chose not to smoke because I would like to breastfeed and I also believe my daughter advanced too fast I sometimes I cant believe how smart she is and all she knows so to you who think we are harming our babie apparently we're not my child is perfect!

That last part is complete frikkin BS! My mum smoked pot all through her pregnancy with me and as I was growing up..and I have my own child and I'm a good mum...you shouldn't judge and make assumptions it makes you look like a jackass

Ok maybe by reading this five yrs later u think it's very stupid what u wrote. Just cuz u dnt do it and disapprove of it dnt mean other people share same point of u. Its a free country people can make there own choices and for whatever reason some mothers decide to smoke pot its on them who are u to judge? First off weed us legal in some states and some people use it for medicinal use...most if you bashing parents that have used while pregnant or breast feeding need to do your research....the fewcstudies that gave been conducted there are no studies that have actually proven that there will b any long term affects on the child....researchers say that it might have an affect on motor development at twelve months and the first month if babies life is very crucial in brain development....so those parents wanting to know if it dies actually affect babies please do actual research yourself so you can be the judge and not be judged by complete strangers that know absolutely nothing....i smoked during both my pregnancies both my kids are alert my week old baby nothing is wrong with her and my four year old daughter is on the level she should be in school....I was actually looking for an answer to the affects if breast feeding and smoking since I did not breast feed with my first kid.....but ran across idiots judging other people as if they are holy than thou.....lol people need to keep their comments to themselves if they can't answer the question without bashing some one because all you all are doing is offering your opinion which nobody really cares about

I find this hilarious cause doctors prescribe oxycottin and other hard core pain medicines to breast feeding women and they say its fine, it's highly addictive and also effects the baby's liver ont to mention has way more negative side effects. Fvck that pot doesn't have any reason to be talked shlt on. Oxycottin lmao and marijuana is bad? The government will lead u to think whatever they want you to think, it's part of the dumming down of America, everything you consume gets stored in your breastmilk but if you eat healthy and only keep the smoking down to once a night the carbinmonoxcide shouldn't effect the baby

That is not true at all. I smoked for the first five months of pregnancy and gave birth to a very healthy 9 pound baby, i have smoked a few times while breastfeeding my baby is in the 75% for weight and height perfectly healthy and very very smart. She is walking at 7 months old and doing things that 1 year olds can. I personally think marijana benefits both the mother and child.

Smoking does NOT make you a bad mother at all. More worried about moms who smoke taking well care of their babies instead of taking ones away from people who mistreat their kids and take there's instead. There's so many screwed up parents that still have their child even after jail time. Worry about what's actually the problem instead of shifting to marijuana users and blaming marijuana for any little thing. My baby is very healthy doctors said she's perfect ❤️ !
