I am having surgery in August to have bunion shaved and the doctor says he is going to break the big toe and place a wire in there as well .Has anyone had this procedure ,does it help with the pain ,are you out of work long and do they put you to sleep.

I had a bunion on my big toe removed about 3 years ago. Yes, I was put to sleep. I also had a Mortons Neuroma right under the toes on the same foot and he removed that as well. I was out of work for about a month and had to keep my foot completely off the ground. They gave me this scooter device on wheels that I put my knee on and was able to get any where I needed to go.
