HA! I am not a man but except for penal pain my symptoms atre exactly the same as described by everyone. I have some ruptured disc that are pushing on the same and only side I have this pain. Neurosurgeon has told me there is a sciatic erve there and that is where my pain is coming from. I would suggest everyone rule out any back or spine problems before pursuing other avenues I’ve had x-rays, cat scans and MRI and it makes sense. I need surgery. I think because the sciatic nerve is in such a delicate area it makes us paranoid about the possible cause. It’s a sharp burning pain down one side of my leg right in the crotch area. Feels like someone is successfully striking a match there. I have found that a small to Lidocaine patch (cut to fit) offers temporary relief. Mine are prescription patches you can cut to fit that area. Cold cloths or anything cold also helps. The lidocaine patches feel very cold upon application. I understand you can get these patches over the counter now just not as strong. This problem is not gender specific and I will know for sure after surgery if the surgery is successful but if you haven’t had an x-ray or MRI to rule out back and spine I’d suggest doing so as everything will most probably get worse if it’s back or spine related

Also if you look up views of all the sciatic nerves in the human body you can see ones that run down the area everyone is complaining about. The person who had the rash does make you wonder if there could be something else going on but could just be a coincidence. Get your back and spine checked out!

I install carpet and it never hurts thu out the busy day. Doesn’t hurt while sitting in a recliner. It flares up after standing and walking. I lay flat for five minutes and it leaves as fast as it arrives. Was told a pinched nerve was the cause.

Have the same symptoms, best is 1st hand sanitizer for 2-3 days ( kills all germs but drys out skin) . Followup with a skin moisturizer . Next use medicated wipe daily sb Tucks or something with witch hazel.
I think this cleans the skin... have now got the sweaty areas but no itchiness.
Can't figure out what cause is the sweaty areas.gonna look into the Pg2 / acid post though I think it's a longshot

Your opinion is closer to the real problem. Mine will increase with long periods of standing or walking but is gone after sitting for a while. Probably a nerve issue.

....Borax helps with itching. But I still have it. Since changing laundry soap use much less sprays powders and creams.

What the hell is this sh*t. For me started after sex noticed red blotches base of penis and on crotch close to penis. Itchy. Thought jock itch. If it is new brand not curable. I've used it all. Been like 3 years. Doesn't go away gets less or more depending on life I guess.

Also noticed black and blue on my penis after sex. At base. Not painful. Yes to groin burning though mine left side only. Burns deep few minutes subsides. Comes and goes never gone.

I too went to the Dr many times at least 4. Many creams sprays powders. Nothing seems to work.

Depressed.

Hi did anyone figure out what this was? I am nervous I have herpes, but tested negative...but I have all of these symptoms. My pain and stinging used to be down my right thigh and groin, but it is now down my left thigh and groin. I can relate it to an invisible rash. Sometimes I get numbness, electric shocking pain and muscle spasms. These symptoms come and go every day.

Has anyone considered a small groinial hernia. I have the burning sensation on my right side but slightly higher up i also get a burning sensation across the area where your seat belt comes across. Mine definitely gets worse when i lift even fairly light weights.it feels like a constant small muscle strain. It does go away with pain killers but ive had it for years.

Agree. I have dealt with this on & off your years. Most likely Herpes Virus that never comes out. Stays in your body & causes burning. try taking Lysine everyday & if that doesnt help Valtrex. Mine usually lasts a few weeks & is miserable.

Exactly the same for me. I too have had herpes for years. Hardly never any break outs from it no longer. But I wonder if it is still in my system, which I am sure it is. Anyway, I too had lower back pain on my lower right side about a week or two prior to getting this pain, a heating sensation, mainly in my groin area. It's along sides of my upper thigh region close to the groin as well. I have treated myself with a cooling cream, Noxema, hoping that would resolve it, just tempory relief is all, but this heat sensing pain, t would go away.

I had what everyone is describing here about 20 years ago when I was in my 40's. Like most of you, I had tests, creams, ointment, lotions. Nothing worked. Then, one Dr decided to put me on a low dose of the Klonopin.  Klonopin (clonazepam) is used to control seizures in epilepsy and for the treatment of panic disorder. With 2-3 days, the pain and burning sensation was less, and within a week it was gone. I stayed on the Klonopin for a year or two and then weaned weaned off it. Over the past 20 years, I have had mild episodes here and there, but they weren't bad.

About two weeks ago, it started again. Mild at first, but now the folds between my upper legs and butt down to the scrotum are on fire, especially when sitting. No sign of any rash whatsoever. The burning is now starting to spread a bit up my back and down my legs.

I am convinced it is some type of nerve problem. Why did the Klonopin work years ago? I have no idea, but it calmed the nerves in this area.

I just made an appointment with my Dr. (New state/new Dr) I am sure she will want to run the whole battery of tests and try a bunch of cremes, ointments and lotions, but I am going to ask her to try me on a low dose of Klonopin for a week to 10 days first and see if it does the trick again. I'll report back.

So, I went to my Dr on Monday. After speaking with her, she prescribed Klonopin .5mg 2x a day. I took one before bedtime and another when I woke up the next day. Within 24 hours the burning sensation had diminished 75%. After 2 more pills (one that night and one the next morning), the burning sensation is gone.
