when i use the bathroom for the past few days i been getting a burning sensation when i urinate. i am sexually active but im gay. what may cause this?

It is likely to be a urinary tract infection or possibly an STD.
See your doctor. They should run a urinalysis. Antibiotics is the common course of treatment.
FYI, you don't want to allow either type of infection to progress. They get harder to treat. Don't delay treatment.
