Is it true that lamictal can cause burning of the skin!!!???!!!

Yes, it is very true, but not just the skin but the whole body as well. Not only lamictal, but other more common drugs like ibuprofen as well. This syndrome is called Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and IS VERY RARE. Most doctors have never encountered such event. However, it can be triggered by many drugs like prescription painkillers and antibiotics - even over-the-counter pain and fever medicines for children. One just needs to be unlucky enough. It starts like a small rash that spreads to arms, legs, back and face. With the rash worsening by every hour, the itching and burning starts, as well as the blistering of the ears and mouth. This unfortunate reaction can end up with death or severe burns all over the body with damaged organs. It's completely unpredictable. Those who get it are not highly allergic. Someone can be taking a drug safely for years until this happens.
