My first episode with these blood red dots that form what looks like a rash was while we were on a cruise. The doctor on board said I had "jellyfish stings". Okay? We didn't see any jellyfish but okay...he's the doctor. Then two years later, on dry land, I was walking through a craft fair in August and noticed my "jellyfish stings" were back. Now three years since the last episode they are back after a day of walking on a hot, humid day...no jellyfish in sight. I am overweight but I hate the label of obese. I am sedentary except for domestic chors. The idea of the "blood thinner" connection is quite interesting since I take about 2000mg of Bufferin per day for persistent migrains (since I was 17). Whatever this is, it is NOT jellyfish stings.
i broke my kneecap and had surgery. They put me on coumadin for 3 wks after...it is 3 months and i am getting purple..red..veins on y foot and ankle of the same side.My drs. shrug it off and say oh it is age or because i am not moving around. I am 55 and 120 pounds. I have been moving my leg more than maybe i am suppoesd to. I do not trust dr.s for many things that happenned to me including almost losing my life from a simple hysterectomy. I internally ble and it was horrible. Does anyone know what I may have??? Thank you and i hope you all feel better as well......
I am extremely tired so please forgive my spelling in this last note.....

I Am 21 weeks pregnant and have only gained about 4lb's and i weight 122 lbs and i have red blotches that look like broken blood vessels on my feet and ankles. They seem to be spreading because i keep finding new blotches. My doctor said its because you have 50% more blood in your body when your pregnant and your veins can bulge out. Iam guessing i have weak veins since iam not overweight. My mother told me to get more vitamin C, because thats good for your veins. They look terrible and iam gonna try to wear compression socks but if anyone has any idea how to stop the blotches that would be great!!

Hi all! It's good to finally find a page where it seems like we all have the same thing going on. I am visiting the dermatologist next week and will let you know what he says, but it also sounds like our collective weight gain has contributed to this. Probably increased pressure on our feet/ankles. WE need to start eating right, stop going to McDonalds, KFC< Skyline, Chipotle, etc. and EXERCISE! EXERCISE! EXERCISE!!

I have had this condition on my ankles for years! I went to the dermatologist this morning as lately the spots have started migrating to the tops of my feet at the base of my toes. The doc basically said, "they are broken capillaries. That's the way you are. You can try to laser them, but most likely you will continue to get them". I am 5'5", 100 pounds and my weight doesn't vary more than a couple of pounds, so weight is not the issue. If you don't have any associated pain or swelling, get friendly with cover-up.... I have. :-(
