I have been suffering badly with these lately (I think I have had them most of my adult life though)

The best way I can describe them is a sudden mark will appear in one eye, sort of like the residue of a camera flash. It can last for 5 minutes or 5 hours and is a little annoying.

They seem to be increasing in severity so I am a little worried, especially after my GP visit today resulted in the doctor saying 'Mmm, no idea - come back in a month'

Has anyone else had something similar or heard of anything? I always figured it was some kind of migraine but there arent always headaches.
Floyd,

Some people do see flashes with migraines so that is a possibility.

I'd like you to visit an opthamologist however and have a thorough eye exam. I don't mean an optician, I mean an opthamologist, an "eye doctor." Be sure to tell them of the spots and their duration. They'll also test you for glaucoma and they can visualize the blood vessels to see if there are any other issues.

There is the possibility of an issue with the retina or the optic nerve. Your sight is to valuable to risk.

Please keep us posted.
