I need some info regarding bipolar disorder. I would like to know if insomnia can be a sign of a manic bipolar phase. My sister has been diagnosed three months ago with this condition and medicament therapy is really helping her. But now insomnia came and I am afraid that the meds are not as effective as before. What do you think about it?
It might be that the medications are not that effective, and that the therapy needs some adjustment. But it also might be that she is experiencing the side effects of her meds. Whatever the case, you will have to take her to the doctor for some further examination. Perhaps the dosage she takes will be changed, or perhaps she will switch to a completely different medicament.
