Not dumb at all. Penicillin seems to be a pretty universal drug, which can be used for many, many, things. Not for Chagas disease though. In fact, I need to tell you that Chagas disease can never really be cured. The symptoms are treated using nifurtimox or equivalent drugs. In the chronic stage of chagas disease, the immediate manifestations are also treated of course.
