2003. My Dr went to, I believe New Mexico, and got his license for Suboxone. I believe back then it was 6 or 8 weeks. It was literally brand new. It was a miracle drug for me. My doctor would tell me to let him know how I took it and when I took it(meaning,.at 1 point I was prescribed 4 a day for super severe pain management (metal in back, knee, ankle, as well as 2 other back surgeries, 2 elbow surgeries, 2 hand surgeries, finger, and nose surgeries. I have a ton of metal in me, lol) so back to original parentheses, I took 1 in morning,.2 during day, and 1 at night, whereas now I am on 3 per day and do 4 halves, and a whole one at night) He always said, whatever works for me to do it, and then after much study, there's nothing thats gonna stop the sublingual getting into your body. They will tell you not to fold it in half, don't smoke, eat, or drink. Do whatever you need to do. Itll get into you. Unless people are weak minded and make themselves sick, and you are one of those kinds..........you will be fine to do whatever. I've been on them for 20 years sadly.im on my way off them now. From 4 to 3 and I start 2 ¹/² next month. My issue was I thought I had the dope beat and then out of nowhere, 17 years later, booze got me. Hence I'd probably be a lot lower than 2 ¹/² ...God bless you and good luck. I know this is way late for a response. Still want to put Incase it helps someone else.

Just because you got sick from smoking and taking suboxone doesn’t mean the doctor is right. Some people can’t handle nicotine and opioids without feeling sick. It’s not dangerous

Hello all.
Suboxone is a medication used to treat opioid addiction and contains buprenorphine and naloxone. While it's not common for Suboxone to cause nausea or vomiting when taken alone, smoking cigarettes can often trigger nausea, especially in people who are sensitive to the effects of nicotine.
Nicotine is a stimulant that can cause a variety of side effects, including nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. It's possible that the combination of nicotine and Suboxone is causing these symptoms.
It's important to note that smoking cigarettes can have a negative impact on your overall health, and can also interfere with your treatment for opioid addiction. Quitting smoking can be challenging, but there are many resources available to help you quit, including nicotine replacement therapies, counseling, and support groups.

It's temporary.
It is a direct interaction between the subs and smoking.
But it is temporary.
The best thing you can do is wait to smoke as long as possible after you take the subs when you first start taking them. You probably got sick when you started your addiction too but didn't notice at the time, understandable. I did.
However, after awhile I could smoke sooner after I took the subs without feeling sick, then I didn't feel sick at all. I do get relapses of it when my dose goes up and had it briefly again when I was changed from tablets to strips so if you're predisposed to it you might have to deal with it more than once but it will fade much quicker when it pops back up each time.
I'm not a scientist and I don't have a bunch of research to back me up just 3 years of being on this stuff and years more of being a smoker who gets sick on opiates lol so I hope that helps someone.
