Hi I was taking hormon progestron and cilest HA. In the current society women tend to behave like men - they need to work, earn money, have a great carrier etc and we call it emancipation. We are trying to be like a men, instead of include the feminine characteristics to this roles. I used to believe that woman is something less that the man. That to be e.g. housewife is something inferior.... It took me lot of time to find out that listening to emotions is nothing bad, that crying is natural and that I do not need to be strong like a man, because to be weak and emotional can be my real power :).

Kayla, Yes, you can still get pregnant. My case is unusual because both my mother and my grandmother had the same issue. My grandmother went on to have 4 children naturally while doctors at the time said she couldn't have any. My mother had 2, and didn't have even remotely normal periods until about 2 years after I was born. I had my first child at 23, after not having an actual period for a little over 2 years. In the time since, I've had about 1 every 2-3 years. When I went to the doctor, she did an ultrasound and many, many blood tests. The cause of my issue is hormonal, so I was given a combination of drugs to balance them out, and that did the trick. There is no reason to believe you cannot get pregnant because your period has gone missing, the most important part is finding a good ob/gyn to figure out what is causing your problem. It is very important if you have this condition to seek out a good doctor, as it can significantly increase the chances of ovarian or uterine cancers, or for people with my type of imbalance, can increase the chances of breast cancer as well as contribute to difficulties durning menopause.

Just thought I could help out a little here:

I started out having semi-regular cycles when i was like 13 I think. Then kinda out of the blue, they stopped, then I had a period a year later, then one another year later, then absolutely nothing for 2 years. I talked to my mom about it, because I mean, what woman would complain about not having that every month, but I was worried about being infertile. I finally got up the courage to go in to see the doctor who gave me a pelvic exam, said I looked just fine, but suggested a blood test. Mind you, I am 110 lbs, 5'5, 20 years old, healthy as can be, regular excercise (not too much), healthy eating habits, I haven't even had the flu in like 10 years. So i took the blood test, the results came back with elevated hormone levels that made the doc refer me to get an MRI. Turns out I have a Pituitary Adenoma. Benign tumor growing on my pituitary gland producing too much of a hormone, causing my lack of cycles. Found all of this out within a week too. It's not a bad thing, and I get to go to the Endocrinologist in a week to see what happens next! I'm excited to finally be normal again and I'm glad I found out what was going on with me.

I would definitely suggest going into the doctor's office sooner rather than later. Don't look things up only on the internet. You search google for 'small rash' and the search comes back with people without legs (worst case scenarios, exaggerations, blah blah blah). The best thing you could do is go to the doc. Especially if you are young because hormone imbalances will possibly lead to osteoporosis and later complications. I will post again when I get back from my next appointment to let everyone know what will happen! Seriously though. Doctors. They don't make a lot of money just for nothing.

Hello ladies, I am 25 years old and have been struggling with my menstrual cycle since I was 13. Throughout the years I have not been able to get my period unless I was on birth control. Last year I was told my gynecologist that I was at a high risk for cervical cancer, I knew I had to do something for myself. I had been to many doctors and no one could give me a reason for not getting my period. They ran several tests and still nothing. So I began doing some research on my own. In January of 2013 I began taking a natural supplement call maca. It took about 2 months but I began getting my period and have had a pretty normal cycle of 32 days ever since. I bought maca at whole foods, but it can also be purchased online. It's inexpensive and effective, it worked for me and nothing when nothing in the past has gotten the job done. Good luck girls :))

When i was diagnosed with Amenorrhea they did an Ultrasound and some blood tests. They did two types of ultrasounds as well, one where they just used the machine over my abdomen and pelvic area with the wand. Then the second type of ultrasound where they actually went up inside me with a different wand and checked it out there.

I am 32 and have NEVER HAD A PERIOD a day in my life. I have Thyroid disease (untreated, i've given up on the medication they've placed me on) and now am really wondering if I can have children. All blood tests and sonograms and dna testing has been done and nothing is wrong w/ me other than the thyroid. I want to have children now....should I waste time trying to treat the thyroid? Or should I just go to a fertility specialist?
