Personally, I have had chlamydia and I'm clear ..... 20 years ago .... I think that you are ssssoooo Irresponsible having a child thinking that you have HIV is disgusting .... what would you have thought if your parents had told you at the age of 10-15 that they had HIV and not told you and you had it ........ and you had to grow up without a parent ....... you shoud have been more careful and been more loving with the man you loved rather than bringing a child into the world that you knowe you couldnt be there for !!!!

Hey i been through the same situation and i just wanted you to know its ok. Everyone makes mistakes its not your fault. yeah some people may say well u should of used condoms or whatever, but you were young and no thats not an excuse, but your a grown adult now. u have to grow from your mistakes and obviously we can see that you have became a better person!! MARRIAGE whhooo hoo lol!! thats a big step that alot of people don't take. so stop doubting yourself and being hurt from your past WHAT HAPPENED, HAPPENED! and you nor your husband or any doctor can change that and if your husband really loves you he would understand. when the both of you made a vow you vowed to love and RESPECT one another and to stay true to one another from that day forward whatever mistake you made before him is simply just that. a mistake !! BE HAPPY ;) good luck on the baby

Just wanted to give some hope to those on this forum. I had chlamydia for about 7-8 months before I got tested and treated. I was extremely worried about how it had affected my tubes and fertility. I was so worried that my doctor agreed to order me an HSG test to see if my tubes were open. The results of that test were inconclusive which worried me even more. My left tube was completely open but they weren't sure about the right. A couple months after that test I got pregnant and am now almost 12 weeks! If you had chlamydia and got it treated and had no complications (PID, cramping, etc) with it then there is a good chance your tubes are open. Spreading baby dust!

Yes you can. I'm 16 and pregnant, I was raped a year and a half ago and unknowingly had chlamydia. Me and my boyfriend fell pregnant un intentionally and when I went for my prenatal pap, we were both treated right away. It's a miracle I was able to get pregnant and have a HEALTHY baby! Very lucky.

What if the doctor took a look inside you and said everything was ok but you still can't get pregnant?

Hi everyone, I'm really worried about my fertility. I had been imperviously diagnosed with chlamydia at the age of 16 I had been in a relationship for 3 years so I know where I'd caught it from!!.. I'm not very sure on how long I had the infection for but I had most of the symptoms; lower abdominal pain, bad smelly discharge and pain during sex!! I'm a very paranoid person so since I noticed this I went to my nurse straight away!! I had the swab test done an waited a week for the results. I took all the medication I had been given. I had a follow up swab test about a moth later to see if it had gone which it did!!... I am now 20 years old an with my new partner of 3 years and we have been having unprotected sex for about a year and 9 months now and basically nothing!! .. He lives far away so we only see each other on the weekends so that's basically the only time we have sex. During this time I had an ovarian cyst at 5cm which cleared up during the check ups for the cyst I had gone hospital and had ultrasound scans, the nurses told me my womb an ovaries look fine but I am now experiencing really bad irregular periods ranging from 27 days to 30 days to 34 days. I have been to my doctors explaining I am worried about my fertility but they have not been taking me seriously. I have had another chlamydia test and other tests since me and my partner stopped using protection. I am now worried that the chlamydia from my past has affected me, I'm worrying myself to death here about not being able to conceive!!.. I am thinking to ask for some fertility test soon!!! Has anyone else been in the same situation and went on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy

There are many factors that effect your fertility besides chlamydia. Better to get yourself tested (both for chlamydia and other factors) than to stress about it. You can bypass a doctor for the initial fertility and chlamydia tests and save some money by using an online service.

Chlamydia can be insidious and symptom free and if left undiagnosed and untreated for a long period can cause infertility. A good idea to have any present of future partner tested once you know you are clear of it yourself.
