I was in a car accident Febuary 24th and about 2 weeks after that I started suffering from tenesmus( feeling like you have to take a dump, but can't). Up until this past Saturday, I thought I had a digestive problem, but on Sunday My girlfriend's dad mentioned to me that I could have whiplash from the accident, resulting in a pinched nerve (which would explain my abnormal bowel contractions). It was then I realized that my lower back was aching as well. So, being a chiropractor, he popped my back and adjusted it. Then my girlfriend gave me a lower back massage with one of those vibrating massager things. The following day I went to work, on the day I have to do collection (its an arcade). All the getting up and down and walking back and forth seemed to have helped because since then my bowel issue has gotten better but my lower back still hurts and aches. Can anyone tell me how much more recovery time I can expect with proper back therapy? And also, will it ever truly go away? I am 18 btw. Thanks in advance.

It’s good your girlfriend’s dad managed to release the pain a little bit but still you have to work a lot on your back pain. I had the same problems for a very long period and my back used to hurt really badly. Then I decided to do something about it as the pains became pretty annoying and unbearable.
I started a massage treatment , it couldn’t hurt to try. After a few treatments it seemed to get better and like the pain was fading away. I could feel some small tingling sensations in my lower back after each massage , then a few days would pass and the pain would come back. I then went to see the doctor and she told me the massage is a good option but in addition to medical therapy. She advised me t go take some physical exercises, which I did, they did me really good.
Having finished this physical therapy, I started going swimming occasionally, and since then I haven’t felt a single bite in my back.
So if you think some of this could help you, you should try it, as I said- it can’t hurt!
