I started taking this bc a few years ago, never had ANY side affects. I stopped for a few months and just recently started again. I'm on my second pack and I've noticed random little headaches, aching in my ovaries and low back, nausea especially after eating, and tightness in my chest and shortness of breath. I'm worried, but after reading the reviews I'm assuming it's from the birth control, possibly just my hormones going crazy
I been on chateal birth control for only a month and it does suck I been having the worst ovary pain for the past two weeks, feeling breast pain and it should also help me get my period every months since I am irregular and I still haven't even gotten my period not liking it!!
I took Chateal for 3 months. Major mood swings, headaches, body aches, my chest hurt, couldn't sleep, major weight gain, restless leg syndrome, and then the worst happened afterwards. I've heard from several women that it can cause chemical pregnancies. Where your not really pregnant and only a sack forms. I stopped in March, chemical pregnancy in May, all the symptoms of being pregnant, morning sickness, etc... pregnancy test positive, went to the hospital a couple days later and I was pregnant but ultrasound showed only a sack. 2 week later, full blown 3 day miscarriage. Then in September, only 2 mos later, chemical pregnancy again. Except my hcg was off the chart, showed a 6 week pregnancy but no sack or egg. So only 3 Mos later I was chemically pregnant again. Took pregnancy test in October hcg gone. No pregnancy. Now it's November and having pregnancy symptoms again. Restless legs, nausea, thyroid issues. I only have 1 ovary and used to have an active married sex life. But my husbands so afraid I just keep getting pregnant, with only one ovary, so we hardly. I know it's the chateal. I had 1 ovary for 2 years and never dealt with this, no miscarriages no pregnancies. Then after taking Chateal and talking to other ladies on it, after stopping it some had at least 1 chemical pregnancy. I just want it to stop. My body can'take take it. DO NOT TAKE CHATEAL.
I'm on it and haven't had any problems. I'm on my first set on the last row starting today. I haven't had any of the side effects anyone else has.
I've been taking Chateal for almost 3 years now and haven't had not one issue with it. No side effects at all. And it most definitely prevents pregnancy.
I've been on Chateal birth control for about 6 months now and haven't had any lasting major issues.
I received Chateal from Planned Parenthood after I contacted them about starting back on the pill again. I had been without the pill for a few years and was a little nervous starting again after going on for so long without it, but I wanted to start birth control again for two reasons:
1.) My period had become absolutely unbearable. I've always had a heavy flow, but the pain I felt from the cramps were becoming increasingly more painful each month to the point where I was bed-ridden for the first day of my period.
2.) I had just started a relationship and wanted no pregnancy scares!
The first month on this pill felt pretty brutal. The biggest issue I had was breast tenderness. After being on this pill for 3 months, I measured my bust and discovered it had increased by a full inch! I also experienced mild headaches, nausea, dizziness, and heart palpitations while my body adjusted to this pill. I had these symptoms the most during first month, occasionally in the second, and rarely in the third. I would say after my third month of being on this pill, my negative symptoms went gone away and I felt that my body was fully adjusted.
I recommend taking this pill before bed time. I take mine at 8:00 pm every day, so if there is a chance of feeling nauseous, I don't experience it, because I'm asleep! This pill does NOT give me anxiety, depression, mood swings, or acne.
The Chateal birth control pill has provided me with relief from my heavy and painful periods. Now, I only experience a very dull pain on the first day of my period and I'm not longer stuck in bed trying to sleep off the pain! I'm extremely happy with these results and my boyfriend and I have a very positive sexual relationship without the stress of any pregnancy scares.
I want to remind you that everyone's body is different. It took my body about 3 months to completely adjust to this birth control, and this is from someone who hadn't taken birth control for a few years prior. It may take you less or more time, or you may find the symptoms to be too extreme or uncomfortable for you and if that's the case, you may need to look for an alternative form of birth control.
I hope my information can be helpful to some of you.
Best of luck!

I been a this Bc for 1 month I always feel tired sleepy, and I'm starting to get depressed and moody I am gonna look for another alternative it's not the best option for me. I can't function properly oh and i get a lot of headaches
I agree with everything you are saying^
How was it for you? I'm thinking on taking this pill, I don't know anymore :/
Now I am too!
I was on Chateal for a year and I loved it! In the beginning I had some difficult mood swings but for me it wasn't bad. My periods were so light and short it was wonderful. I've been on Sprintec for the past year and my periods are longer, heavier and more painful. I'm trying to figure out how to get back into Chateal!
Ive been on this for about 6 months now, and its been working out for me, a little weight gained but, im not feeling sick, no headaches, fewer cramps, period lasts 3 days! works really good with me!
I've been on chateal for a week now. I got it from planned parenthood. ( not many options) I feel that it's too early to tell but so far I have been a little more emotional, hungry, and tired( hormonal acne got better). Not bad. First couple days my sex drive crashed (couldn't get wet:( ... but after the 5 or 6 day it's made me extremely turned on and I get way more wet than before. I gained 4 pounds, I don't mind it though It went straight to my butt. 105 to 109 pounds (5'2)
The first birth control pill I've ever took was Ortho-Cept. In the beginning, I've experienced side effects but nothing all that terrible. Once my body got used to it, the side effects went away, and it was a pretty good pill. Then Planned Parenthood quits carrying it and gives me this Chateal junk. What garbage! Since the first day, I'm more fatigued than normal, tired all the time. I cry and scream all the time. My depression, ODC, and anxiety is much worse; Since being on this pill, I've been having daily panic attacks; which are even worse at night, the more tired I get. My breasts are so sore, when I lightly bumped my boob on a hallway ledge, it hurt enough to cry out in pain! Since being on this pill, I'm very mouthy, and got complaints at work about my attitude. I'm extremely irritable. Most foods make me sick, and I crave Taco Bell so much, I'm eating it several times a week! Any healthy foods, I'm completely repulsed by. I've had days where I'm so depressed, I'd start self harming. At one point on this pill, I started hearing voices! And I have never experienced this before. I've read reviews mentioning that they rather take the risk when having sex than being on this pill; In my case, I think I'd be able to handle this pill better if I actually did have a sex partner. I'm currently not sexually active -I take the pill for irregular periods, but am looking for a friend with benefits- and my sexual frustration has been a million times worse since taking this pill. It's been several months and it hasn't gotten better. On this pill, I feel as if I'm coming apart! I'm going to Planned Parenthood this week and demanding a different pill. Maybe this isn't the right place and time to joke, but I feel like I'm on the Amityville Horror of birth control pills. To all the ladies suffering from this pill: GET OFF!!!!
And also, the migraines that I've suffered from for over 12 years have gotten much worse since taking Chateal. I have them more frequently now, and with aura, which I never has before!
