My husband is going to have cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder, next Wednesday. I am so worried about. He is mosty prepared but I still can’t be there with him. I was hoping that I can’t found out here what happens during surgery. Can anyone tell me?
If he is going to have laparoscopic cholecystectomy, surgeon will make three to four small incisions and insert tube-like instruments through them. The stomach will be filled with gas to help the surgeon view the abdominal cavity and A camera will be inserted through one of the tubes to display images on a monitor located in the operating room, so In this manner, his surgeon will be able to work inside his abdomen without having to make a larger incision. I hope this helps.
