I am a 17 year old male. There is really no pain but it really bothers me to look at. It is located at the right side of the top of my penis. It, itself, is about 1 1/4 cm long and 1/4 across, and 1/8 cm thick. It's hard to explain exactly what it looks like, nor can I find anything really about it on the internet. Imagine the head of ones penis and how it protrudes about a centimeter outwards from the shaft. Now imagine a piece of skin that is perpendicular to the corner of the head. If that's hard for you, imagine taking a piece of scotch tape and attaching it to the end of the bulb of a mushroom and sticking the other end to the shaft of a mushroom so that there is space in between the tape and the mushroom. Sorry if I'm saying too much, I just want to make this as specific as possible. As I stated before, I am circumcised, so it's been there my whole life and grew with my penis, and the hole in between, or gap I should say, expanded also. Here is a rough, typed drawing, drawn as if you were looking at the right side of my penis.

Does anyone know about this, is it common, a penile disfigurement or a circumcision error? As I said, it causes me really no pain unless sometimes I masturbate without lube and it sort of tugs and rips it just a tiny bit. but that is very rare. I just don't want to have to explain to girls what it is or how I got it and I don't want it to distract them or disgust them. I know no one is perfect, but can or should I get it removed, will there be scarring? Is there a name for it? Is it common? Hard to ask my parents about it as well (of course haha) Sorry for the huge post I just wanted to be sure. Thank you so much!

Hi deathavenga,
You've done a really good job of describing it there :-D
It sounds to me as though its a skin bridge. If it is that then they are normally treated with a simple surgical cut and shouldn't leave any scarring (Anyone got any experiences with this surgery to share?).
Have a quick look on the internet at skin bridges and let me know if thats about right.
You should see a doctor and definately don't go tearing it yourself.
Hope I've helped :-)

Thank you so much! That's exactly what it is, and from the pictures I've looked up it seems like a mild case of it! I would have never guessed the terminology! It said some people put rings in it and all, hahaha but I'd rather just get it removed, and upon closer inspection i found I have another one on the bottom. Still, thank you so much! I am still curious of side effects and surgery experience.

Glad I could be of some help. The skin on the bottom is probably your frenulum instead, I'm uncircumcised myself so wouldn't know for sure if its still present after the circumcision.
Could someone clarify this for me? Thanks.
And anyone whose got any experiences of the surgery please share them I'm interested in learning more about it :-D

I'm looking forward to hearing what the doctor tells you about the options and what they call this surgury.
It's fascinating. Please post the details asap, OK? Help us all out! 8)
