I had a cold sore but as it kept scabbing up it would fall right off again. There is now a white patch on my lip. Will it stay there for a long time and what can I use to help the process?

As a child, I myself had recurring cold sores in the same area thus resulting in a white scar. The scar is still there :-( I haven't used anything to help, but my guess is that is it permanent because you can't get the pigmentation back.
