Hi all. I know most of you are very busy so i'll keep my post brief. Im concerned about symptoms that I am having. I have done my own research and think it might be neurological in nature but i'd like opinions on it.
I have had some of these symptoms since about 1997, and its pretty hard for me to say in retrospect how they have got worse as I have not been watching them, but I certainly remember back then I used to get a tremor in my hand after carrying heavy shopping.
So here they are:-
Back pain in 3 distinct areas.
1. Right at the bottom of my back, central and also to both sides. Dull ache that is there all the time. Made worse by walking slowly or standing still. I get brief relief by stretching it (bending at the waist).
2. Thorasic region - I have two areas or spots that hurt when I touch the spine. The area under the pain feels fibrous to touch and the vertebrae feels more prominant.
3. Neck - my neck hinges backwards as opposed to extends in a curve. An xray has confirmed that I have a narrowing of the spine between C5 and C6. The neck is also generally very stiff.
I wake up every morning feeling stiff all over. In particular my shoulders feel stiff, my hips and the SI area of my spine. Recently I wake up and the back of my legs are aching too. I cannot sleep in the same position for long or I wake up stiff.
I constantly feel like I have a low grade fever.
Some muscular activities have become very hard, e.g.
If I hold my arm above my head the arm starts to ache after only 30 seconds or so. Or, if I hold a newspaper out in front of me to read my arms and thorasic area of my back start to ache fairly quickly.
If I carry shopping that is heavy I get an uncontrollable that in that hand for about 20 minutes after. Recently I have noticed a fine tremor in my hand (maybe it was there always and is norml?). I get a tremor in my hand if I squeeze my hand to make a fist or if I stretch my fingers out wide (active stretch). I get the same tremor repeated in all body muscles when I try and work them with any kind of resisted force (its just more noticeable in my hands).
I wont influence your comments by saying what I think it is but I'm interested to hear opinions. Many thanks for your comments
