I've had this problem for a little over 2 years now - and have also been frequenting this forum board. I first started noticing something was wrong when I would take a sip of alcohol and feel that burning, tingling feeling at the end of the urethra almost instantly. Of course, googling led my here. Below are my experiences thus far:

Symptoms:
Persistent, urgent need to urinate
Frequent urination, often in small amounts
feeling you need to pee, even after just going
Burning / Flaring of bladder and urethra

Possible Causes:

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) - The symptoms are very close to a UTI. I'm sure many of you have even went to a doctor to which the doctor asked for a urine sample to test for this. If you test positive, mystery solved. If not check below.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) - Symptoms can also be close to certain STIs - a sample test by your doctor can confirm if you may have a STI. If not, see below.

Interstitial Cystitis (IC) - It's often mistaken for a urinary tract infection (UTI), but there is no infection.
Symptoms include bladder and pelvic pain or pressure and a frequent urge to urinate.
Painful bladder syndrome is often difficult to treat. Therapies may include medications, physical therapy, and biofeedback. Antibiotics haven't been shown to help with painful bladder syndrome.

Conclusion: After testing negative for STIs and UTIs, I believe I may have IC. One reason most doctors may not consider this at first for patients may because IC affects most women. Unfortunately, I have not read any cure for it; however, I have benefitted greatly from monitoring my diet. Alcohol is a key ingredient that triggers the flares. A very strong criminal is also coffee/caffeine - I get the worse affects from coffee. Others have noted that foods with high acidity tend to cause flares.

One thing that I have found very helpful are Colostrum pills that I get from Vitaminne Shop, or GNC. I take 3 every morning as soon as I wake up. Colostrum has not cured anything, and when I stop taking the pills, I become victim once again. However, after 3 days of taking 3 colostrum pills everyday, I felt like it helped to decrease the intensity of the flares - though I still have to avoid alcohol and caffeine. I am sure there are other trigger foods that I have yet to discover.

i had unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex with a hookup... a week later, I noticed this tingling feeling in the tip my urethra. well, i also noticed a lesser tingling below my belly button. the sensation is mild and fairly consistent, and only a few times produced grimacing pain over the past two months (10/20/2017 - present 12/21/2017). i do not feel a stronger sensation when peeing, but i do notice a stronger tingling sensation after ejaculation which is uncomfortable.

I had multiple tests performed with no shocking results:

These were negative results
1. Urine Analysis (17 metrics), 2. Urine Culture, 3. HIV, 4. HSV-2, 5. Chlamydia, 6. Gonorrhea, 7. Syphilis, 8. Trichomoniasis

These were positive results (not alarmed here... nbd)
1. HPV, 2. HSV-1

I had the tingly tip sensation for about three months; more noticeable when sitting/relaxing but once I noticed it, it was hard to fuhgetaboudit. No STDs, married & faithful for over 18 years.
Anyway, I searched through other message boards and of all things a 19-year old suggested prostate massage/milking...I was skeptical and nervous--24 hours later = no tingle.

Research nerve damage or nerve problems in penis. Sounds like a nerve issue. My bf went through all sorts of stuff for over 2 years until finally the dr found that he had a nerve problem. It was coming from his power back.

I think I found my own problem and what other people may be experiencing. Pretty sure I have pudendal nerve damage, which can lead to a lot of symptoms people here feel (Tingling, feeling of not emptying bladder, urgency to pee, urinary hesitancy, pain or discomfort in pelvice). For me, i'm pretty sure I injured it squatting heavy trying to prepare for a powerlifting competition this month. Needless to say my powerlifting days are probably over.
