My father has undergone HoLEP under SA for the treatment of BPH.He is of 72 years age & also suffering from diabetes & hypertension. He has been discharged from hospital 30 days back after BPH procedure of HoLEP. Even after 30 days he is suffering from contineous drainage of urine.He has to wear diapers for 24 hrs. Can not go out due to this reason.Doctor said that this will cease within 30 days.But still even ater 30 days, problem is as such.Now, docor says that it can take upto 3 months & problem will be solved as soon as internal skin recovery takes place.Please, suggest me.
Where was the surgery done? By what doctor?

My surgeon, Dr. James Lingeman suggests performing kegal exercises to faciltate this problem.
Ask your surgeon if that could help.

From reading this forum more people seem to have problems and a slower recovery from HoLEP than from PVP or the dreaded TURP.
Dr Humphreys at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ has a video on YouTube.
He compares different BPH procedures.
He does a lot of HoLEP procedures. He seems to like HoLEP better than TURP.
TURP has more bleeding and more retreatment rates. Look for the video.
