s in the past. I asked my doctor and he said the shots would not be the cause.
With the first injection I just felt kind of sleepy but didn't have any other side affects but after the second injection I had a terrible headache, felt very sleepy and was woken up in the night with leg cramps. While the headache only lasted a few hours the lethargy is still with me this morning as well as the leg cramps in my left calf.
After reading the other posts I feel like this is just a passing side affect of having so much Cortisone in such a little time.
I hope you are feeling better now. Please let me know if your leg cramps have disipated.
Thanks, Judith
Thighs and calfskin and last for five to twenty minutes and repeat for days and four to seven times a day.

Over a month since my cortisone shot and I'm still being awakened nightly by severe leg cramps. I've tried muscle relaxers, Gatorade, Calm (magnesium), and Epsom salt baths. Nothing seems to prevent them. When I get them, I jump out of bed and put my feet flat onto a cold tile floor. I usually land on one foot first, get that leg muscle spasm to ease up and then switch to the other foot. Never in my life has my leg not held me up, but twice now I wound up crumpling to the floor. Unfortunately, the 2nd time this happened, I actually broke my foot. I will never take anything with cortisone again. This reaction continues to affect my daily life in such a negative way. My family doctor told me that cortisone can raise your blood sugar and since muscle cramps are a symptom of diabetes, she believes there is a connection. Haven't gotten my blood test results back yet to prove her theory, but at least she validates the connection.
