I am having the same thing I got a shot about 2 weeks ago and now I am having such bad cramps in my feet Hands and legs .....I have tried everything I just want to sleep
I had a cortisone shot in the top of my feet for arthritis and expierenced cramps in the in the calves of both legs while sleeping
I had a shot of Cortisone in my right knee and now can walk from the muscle spasms in my calf's and cramping in my toes....I am also worried...pain unbearable.
Correction...can't walk
This might sound dumb .but is muscle cramps. .the same as muscle spasm...I get lots of muscle spasm every day on neck ,hip an back
I had three injections one on each side of my lower back and than one about a month later on the right side of my lower back.I'm having the worst cramps in my right calf that travels to my foot and the front of my lower leg. I'm taking a muscle relaxer three times a day plus Gabapentin 4x a day. It helps but i stay sleepy and am tired all the time. Don't know if i rather have the back pain or what!I really hate to even think about surgery but i can't stand the cramps. I walk dragging my right leg!
I am so glad that I did a search on this! I had two cortisone injections, one in each knee, a few weeks ago. Shortly afterward, I started getting horrible muscle spasms in my calves, sometimes both at the same time, usually when I wake up and stretch. They're awful!! I didn't know that this was a side effect. The shots have really helped my arthritic knees, but those spasms are something else!
I feel badly for you. I have two neuromas in the bottom of my right foot. I've tried everything known possible to man for them. I finally went to an orthopedic specialist in feet and ankles. She talked me into having two cortisone injections. Within three hours I had severe stomach pain, nausea, and felt flu like. Four days later I had the worst leg cramps I have ever had in my entire life. I also ended up at the ER with an attack of Diverticulitis that I know was brought on by the shots. I could choke this woman if I ever see her again. I had asked her if there were any side effects and she told me, "No, I'm giving you a minimal amount." Never again. I will hobble around with the neuromas before I ever have a shot. The leg cramps were beyond horrendous. They seem to have subsided. Wish I could say the same for my stomach.
Thanks so much. I also made the grave mistake of getting two cortisone shots in my right foot ten days ago. Within three hours I felt like I had the flu, stomach pain, nausea, etc. Ended up at the ER with Diverticulitis attack. This woman had told me when I asked her if there were any side effects to cortisone shots that there would be none as she was giving me a minimal dosage. Never ever again. I had same problem. Got a shot in hip and cramping started 7-8 hours later they lasted 3-4 months legs, arms ,back pretty much any major muscle group. Finally got on muscle relaxers.
None of these answer the question!

Glad to hear that I too 595mg of potassim gluconate and 20mins later had some pain but not as much from Scatica pain...
I have been getting low back injections for the past 6 years and as the injections do help my back they cause severe muscle pain and leg cramping from my hips to the bottom of my feet. Just standing causes pain. I have found that taking Lyrica for about 5 to 10 days from the date of injections stops my pain. I have Fibromyalgia an have taken this for nerve an muscle pain but it caused weight gain so i limit to takeing when need. And after steroid injections it is needed the pain is so bad i cant sleep. May try talling to your doc about it. Hope this helps everyone
