Every time I have a cortizone shot, it effects me mentally... I go in and out of dark depressions..........I have been on anti depressents foryears, and was doing excellent..excellent......I had a very bad shoulder, went to a dr....he injected me BEFORE i had a chance to say I do not do well on the shots........I have only had 3 in my life...I would rather have the pain of the shoulder than the results from the shot mentally.....My internist totally AGREES with this... he knows what it does to the mind...WHY DONT OTHERS KNOW THIS INFORMATION......thank you so much for reading my email.......
this is old so I probably can't help but for those who stumble on this like I did, remember that your doctor is your consultant, but you are in charge. does your doctor know more about your condition than you? I hope so. but is your doctor just another human who can make misjudgments? absolutely. don't do anything you're not comfortable with. get a second opinion if you must. Working in the hospital I hear complaints of a similar nature all the time, and when you relay them to the MD it often turns out the patient didn't even bring these concerns up to them. YOU are in charge of your health. stop playing the victim and speak up about your concerns.
