MY HUSBAND STARTED COUGHING FOLLOWING HEART BY PASS SURGERY IN MARCH 2007. HE HAD PNEUMONIA AFTER COMING HOME FROM THE SURGERY. EVER SINCE THEN HE HAS A HARD COUGH WITH WHITE TO YELLOW MUCUS. HE COUGHS EVERY 15 TO 30 MINUTES EACH DAY. THE COUGHING STOPS AT NIGHT. HE COUGHS SO MUCH THAT HE HATES TO GO OUT BECAUSE IT IS EMBARASSING. THE CARDIOLOGIST JUST SEEMS TO IGNORE THE COUGH. THE FAMILY DOCTOR JUST SAYS THAT HIS LUNGS SOUND CLEAR. WHAT DO WE DO NEXT?
