My grandma had a heart attack few days ago. I’m afraid that she can suffer from aphasia. Is it possible? I know that stroke is the most common cause of aphasia. But I wondering could aphasia be caused by suffering a heart attack? Anybody who knows something about that? Thanks!
Yes, I think that heart attack can cause aphasia. You probably know that aphasia is result of certain brain damage. Massive heart attack may deprive the brain of oxygen and that can damage brain cells seriously. So, I think it’s possible. But if you think that your grandma shows any signs of aphasia, you should talk with her doctor.
