I need to know some facts about Coumadin. Is it a dangerous medication? My father has been taking for some time as a prevention of heart attacks. He was prescribed with it the last time he had a heart attack, his second one. Could Coumadin cause rash? He has been complaining on the rash several days after he started using Coumadin? Could that medication be the cause of his trouble?
Coumadin is a very serious medicament that could make a lot of side effects, such as skin changes, even discoloration of some skin areas, diarrhea, dizziness, nosebleeds, sudden pain in extremities etc. Women in pregnancy must not take this medicament, and there are many conditions that must not have coumadin in its therapy. Those are diabetes, kidney and/or liver disease, recent injury, surgery, cancer etc. So, yes, coumadin can be the cause of your father's problems.
