Hey, I'm 17 and I've had a sexual relationship with my boyfriend for 7 months but I've only been on the pill for 5 months. I've never been able to have a orgasm with my boyfriend, whether he's giving me oral, rubbing me, fingering me or just normal sex and its creating problems between us because he feels insecure about it. I really love him and this is really frustrating me, could the pill be affecting my ability to orgasm? :(

Hi Guest,

The pill doesnt effect your ability to orgasm but it can lower your sex drive. You may not be 100% relaxed with him especially if he is your first serious relationship. Give yourself time to relax with him.

This is a common problem, first realize that about 70% of women are unable to achieve orgasm from penetration alone. So it is perfectly normal for you not to achieve orgasm without additional stimulation. There is a big difference between the stimulation you give yourself and he can give you. You are an expert, you have been doing this for a while and know what to do, what rhythm, speed, etc. It takes time and communication for a couple to master these issues enough that he is able to bring you to orgasm, especially on a regular basis. Even then it is perfectly normal not to have an orgasm every time.

You actually are ahead of the game. It can be difficult to get men to try different techniques, with oral sex being one of the most important. Why it is difficult in the early years to get men involved, I cannot answer. But congratulations on finding one! There is more to it than just the oral activity though. And some knowledge of your anatomy really helps with this, and he should know about it as well so you so he can do a better job.

I have written some material covering this things when responding to others with similar questions. If you would like, I would be happy to paste them here for you as well. Not all of it would apply, but they do cover things I think you will find useful including techniques to improve his oral sex technique, and some explanation of anatomy and how to use this knowledge to maximize the sexual sensations you experience. (For example, did you know your clitoris is much bigger than it appears and actually has legs? Seriously.)

They can be a little long and it can be said I sometimes talk too much. But if you are interested in this information, I would be happy to paste it for you. I do believe at least some of it would be of benefit to you. Please let me know if you would like me to present them here.
