Well like most of the ppl here I too suffer from this problem, I'm 19 now by having this problem since 2 years the reason for your itching is that your body produces antihistamines (the red spot which you see) and the antihistamine have the tendency that If you scratch it ,it starts covering more area,I think you might have noticed that when you scratch it,it becomes worse, well what I actually do to stop them is I Don't Touch /Scratch the affected area and It goes away after 2-3mins,I had tried all lotions but none of that seemed to work for me,I know my solution is very difficult as the itch is really painful but it will at least save you from itching like crazy in the middle of class/school/road.

I am an Engineering student of 20. I Suffered from exactly same problem for 5 years and got its cure in Ayurveda. i got checkups from many skin specialists but none of them had proper cure. A local Doctor of mine gave me some powder which i had to take with curd and also he gave me some tablets to take. The medicine started it effect within 2 days and within 15 days, i was fully out of this disease. For me it was no less than a miracle as i din't believe in Ayurveda. I thank to Ayurveda and i will love to help others if they want because i feel like hell one day. You can contact me here

I have finally found a treatment for this condition after suffering for years and feeling like there was no hope. I started to go to saunas just to sweat it out, but thinking about having to do that for the rest of my life was not the best option. I finally had an allergist who didn't give up on me. We tried all the OTC allergy medications (e.g. Allegra, Claritin, Zyrtec) and even up the medication -- no results. He finally had me try a prescription strength Zyrtec which is the 3rd generation and is called Levocetirizine. 1 Pill a day (except the summer cause I don't get this condition in the summer) and it's working. I get about a 95% - 100% reduction depending on the day and severity of the attack. I'm trying to post this same message on several forums in hopes of helping people out. I know I scoured the web in search for an answer before I found mine so hopefully my posts will help others. Good luck!

I'm a 39 year old white male and have dealt with this since I was in junior high.  About 2 years ago, I started a low carb diet to lose weight.  Through that process, and trial and error, I have found these symptoms are associated with wheat and corn.  It takes about 5 days to clear these from my body, and then symptoms are far better than all the lotions and allergy medicines I have tried.  Now I know if I have a piece of cake, cookie, or whatever, I'm likely to have an attack (or several) within the next few days.  Like everyone else, this only matters in the winter.  I come from a Midwest wheat farming family, so giving up wheat has not been socially popular, but the peace and not fearing an attack has been well worth it.  It used to be my only relief was going outside in the freezing cold, half naked. Now I can wear long sleeve shirts and sweaters in the winter without fear.  I occasionally get some normal winter dry skin itches, but nothing at all like when I'm eating wheat and corn.  I can eat rice and potatoes without problem, so it is not carbs.

hope this helps some of you!

Hello,

I suffered from this crazy itching for years. It started when I was 17 and I am 30 now. I tried all sort of things, changed doctors but none of them had a clue what's this about. I finally learnt through reaearching on internet that it is actually the lower levels of testerone in males which causes such types of skin diseases. Ever since then, I started researching on how to increase T-levels and have started working on improving my T-level by doing lots of excercise, stress free life, eat foods which naturally enhances T-levels. Though, I have had no tests to check my T-level but in the last winter I experienced that this painful itching started to disappear. I will see how it goes come the next winter.

So all of you suffering from this disease, start working out, remove stresss from life, eat of lots of omega-3 rich foods like nuts, borocolli, fish, olives and etc.

Regards,

Waqas

You are not alone, I felt I was just a carbon copy of you same symptoms even with the sexual part. same way I am laughed at. same everything. When even a girl motions at me, OH LORD, HERE COMES MY ENEMY. it hurt so bad. I was going to get a girls number today, I motioned and she came over, she smiled back, I got emotionally excited and MR PINS AND NEEDLES started working, it felt so bad that I had to cut everything short and leave. My happens in the winter and it persist until we get into real summer, thus during the june july months up until november and it starts again.

I just wanted to add my bit for all of you who are still suffering from this. I developed cholinergic urticaria twice, both times from using steroids. The first time it happened, i didn't have a clue what it was. I was taking a small weekly dose of testosterone and about 8 weeks into it, i developed the intense burning, needle like symptoms that came on whenever i got hot. I stopped the testosterone and it went away after a month. A few years later i started doing testosterone again, and this time it came back with a vengeance. A few months in to taking testosterone, and i started getting it fairly mild when i started working out. It progressed quickly to the point where i couldn't even get out of bed and drink a cup of tea in the morning without the fire spreading all over me from head to toe. I couldn't walk the dogs or do anything it was so bad, this really was life destroying. Obviously i came off the testosterone straight away, and i spent months trying to fix it with every cream, antihistamine. antifungal i could. Nothing worked. When i went to a specialist doctor who diagnosed cholinergic urticaria, she had me on the usual prescription anti histamines too....they didn't work. I had my test levels checked and my thyroid levels checked months after, which were back to normal, so I still wasn't sure why i still had this. My guess is that i developed it because i caused an imbalance in my hormones or because i raised my red blood cell count too high, which is a common side effect of taking testosterone. It can only have been from these injections as the two times in my life it happened, was because of this. It's been a year now and all i tend to get is very slight tingling in my hands when i haven't sweated for a few days...this is my cue to go for a run. I have seemingly rid myself of the worst of it by sweating profusely every day. tons of running in layers to really make myself sweat, hill walking with a heavy backback on for hours....anything to really sweat this condition out of you. I also bought a portable sauna that i would sit in each morning and sweat in. After about 6 months of doing this with intense cardio, it finally started going away so this is my advice to anyone. It hurts like hell when you first start overheating...but keep doing it, sweat every day and see if it helps you like it did me. I think cholinergic urticaria is often hormone related so it is worth getting all these things, like thyroid, red blood cell count etc, checked out.
