I am yet another person who suffers from the itch all over my body.  I can walk a short distance in winter then boom!  There’s a telltale it on my lower back or arm or chest, like one or two little needles that I really have to scratch, as soon as I do scratch the initial itch, it immediately triggers the whole body nightmare itching.  Chest, back, shoulders, arms, neck and bum cheeks mainly affected.  ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!  Especially if I,m walking down town and it happens, as I feel like I need to go hide somewhere and take my top clothes off and scratch like crazy!   If anyone sees me with my hands up my back and front I must look like an id**t.

I noticed last year that it went away (not winter anymore) and I thought it had gone?  Seems to be back this year with a vengeance!  I sometime get this itch now just from being a little anxious about something or even just being anxious about the itch..

Anyway, I remember the first time I had this itch was on the way to school when I was 14, I’m 45 now and the itch came back to my life about 3 or 4 years ago…

The only real solution I have found is If I go to the gym in summer and do some cardiovascular exercise, such as running etc.  This totally prevents the itch in winter, no problem what so ever.  For the past couple of years I haven’t been very active and I am pretty sure that’s why these demon itches have returned.

I personally can’t go out and do any bike riding or running at this time of year as I will need to rip my skin from my body, but come summer I’m of to the gym.

NOTE- There are no spots, rash, lumps or markings with my itching, except where a scratch myself with a fingernail or something..

AGAIN-  I find cardio exercise to be my cure

Good luck and empathies.

I'm 53, and have suffered this since adolescence. Lately, I try to push sweaty exercise as far into autumn as I can, because freely sweating is the only cure I've found.

It usually starts October or even September, and does not cease until April or May, but I can hold it off until November with exercise/sweating. It'll seem to stop on its own, all of the sudden, sometime in the spring.

I wonder if it is airborne? One thing for sure, it seems like my pores are clogged, but evidently they are not.

There is no surface manifestation of the issue. Unless I scratch my skin raw, and even that does not calm the issue.

Hi guys!
I too have this problem but the most relieving thing I found about this problem is reading this post. I've been diagnosed with folliculitis back in India and my doctor referred to the problem being insensitive to sudden temperature changes but it seemed to lessen out once I used to a place with relatively warmer winters.
And then I came to this corner of the world called Sweden and it surfaced again from nowhere.
It's very unpredictable and random, most annoying while doing any physical activity.
Anyone with any remedies off late on this thread?

I have had the EXACT same issue for many years now. I came across your post researching a way to make this stop. If you ever find a true cure, please contact me and give me the solution. I know what you're dealing with and is sucks! What I've done to fight it, is go to a gym and run on the treadmill is hard as I can to intentionally trigger it and start sweating quickly, so that it's out of the way for most of the day. Rarely does it happen twice in the same day. Hope this helps bud. I hope we find answers soon!
