Hi there, at your age you’re still going to be going through some changes in puberty which includes your voice. I am 19 and have a lower, raspy voice for a female, but it’s normal. Some people have higher voices, some people have low. That’s what makes you you! Don’t listen to other kids, chances are they’re just worried about their own insecurities so they point out other people’s instead. The mucous could be a factor however, and that could be from your diet. Dairy will cause an excess of mucous especially in the throat, so maybe think about eating less cheese, milk, etc. in your diet, you may even be lactose intolerant.

Hello, I'm a singer. I'm undergoing tonsils removal surgery next week and was wondering if the operation will have any effect on my singing voice in the long term? Thanks a lot, Yonatan
