Hello everyone, I had my gallbladder taken out 3 and a half weeks ago and I've been experiencing much of what everyone else is talking about. My shortness of breath changes depending on what I've eaten or drank honestly. It feels like fluid builds up in my abdomen and chest. If I drink just water and watch what I eat, I'm mostly fine although I still dont feel like its normal breathing. Anyone else care to try this and let me know but I press in on my chest and where the gallbladder used to be to try and get the fluid or gas or whatever it is out and then and only then is my breathing normal and I think it would be interesting to see if some of you are relieved that way too.
A week after surgery I went back to the E.R. because I thought it was a heart attack. The shortness of breath was horrible and just back pain in my left chest going into my shoulder and left arm ... not to mention my left arm was going numb. Blood work was good, Heart was perfect and CT scan and X ray showed nothing wrong. The only two possibilities was a blood clot in my lung that worked its way loose and broke up to a safe degree or it was something pushing on my lung to cause pain is what my doc told me.
If anyone is like me, drink water and stay away from soda as well as eat light and watch what you eat. Greasy or fried foods lead to shortness of breath and pain for me every time. If I eat more than the equivelant of a bowl of progresso soup , it leads to pain and shortness of breath. I know it sucks but we just cant eat and drink the way we used to.
