I am 26 yrs. old and 3 wks ago started having bad symptoms (pain in right side, gas/ bloating, etc.). Ultrasounds and tests later revealed I had a severe amount of stones and with my symptoms Gallbladder removal would be the best thing. I just had it removed Wed. (5/19/10) via lap. (same day outpatient). My surgeon said I had a huge stone alone blocking flow of my gallbladder and that's why I was in so much pain. But, I feel worse after surgery. I have a lot of pain when I breathe in and out. Intense pain in lower abdomen/back. I'm nauseous, weak, and I have no desire to eat anything. I am now suffering from severe acid (?) reflux and heartburn. I feel like I got most of the gas out of my body after surgery. I'm bloated and burp/ pass gas all day without warning. I am using some gas-x. I think I have an allergic reaction or something b/c for the last day I'm itching all over and shaky. I'm putting in a call to my doc this morning but I mean does it sound like I'm healing horribly or is something wrong?

The pain while breathing in and out will soon go away. I had that for awhile too. I had mine taken out May 13. Just take it slow...and dont over do it. if the hospital gave you a breathing tube to inhale in to better your breathing, then use that a lot!! it will help!! I also had little desire to eat but my appetite soon came back. And as for the acid reflux, i have heard of a lot of people having it after surgery. My friend was prescribed Nexium to help hers, may want to ask your dr about it. But for the knot, i have no idea....maybe some scar tissue? Id ask your doctor =)
The best thing to do is not freak out. Stay calm and positive. My recovery has sucked too, but all i can do is think positive and hope that one day Ill be better than what i was. ;-)

Thanks for the reply and helpful info. I saw my doc today and she prescribed some Nexium. She told me to try it and she scheduled to see me back Friday to see if it's working. I love my doctor she takes good care of me. The surgeon on the other hand I can't see myself referring anyone to him ever. He was horrible but it's OK I don't have to see him anytime soon again lol. She said everything else is just normal healing but she did tell me to see him about "the knot" beside my belly button. Thanks again for the reply and I love that this forum is here b/c it's nice to hear others stories. It's comforting to see how others have recovered and dealt with it.
