Hi, I hope you can help me. I had excessive bleeding, had a D&C and they removed one or two polyps. They said I had numerous polyps. I was put on provera for 10 days to stop my bleeding. This all happened after not having cycles for 7 years, I am almost 51. I quit spotting 14 days after I finished the provera. I have experienced some pain and sometimes just a real heavy feeling in my lower abdomen. I have been noticing that my underwear will sometimes be wet. This morning when I went to the bathroom when I finished there was two spots of blood on the paper. This is how all this started about 6 months ago when I was just noticing spots of blood. Do you have any idea of what might be going on?
I was diagnosed with endometriious
Look, it is impossible to say what the cause of your bleeding/spotting may be at this point.
To have this figured out, you will have to see a gynecologist again.

The thing is that endometriosis often cause problems with spotting and bleeding between periods (which you don’t have), so endometriosis could be one of the reasons. Another possible reason could be those polyps that were left…..you didn’t say if the polyps were inside of the uterus or on the cervix. Polyps may be aggravated by sex if they are on the cervix but may bleed on their own as well. Even if those polyps were removed it could be that you developed other polyps, so they could be causing the bleeding as well.

I didn’t understand when the last time you saw a gynecologist was. Was it when you had D&C?

If it’s been six months since you saw a gyn, you could have developed uterine fibroids, that may cause pain in the lower abdomen as well as swelling in the lower abdomen if they grew to be big.

These are just some of the suggestions, to know for sure, you need to be examined.
