The same thing used to happen to me. It started when I was less than 10 and lasted until my late 20s. It matches the description of "Alice in Wonderland Syndrome." Google that, and you will find some info.

I suffer from this it started at a young age maybe 5 I was laying under my grandmothers coffee table watching TV and suddenly its like the TV was getting smaller tho it wasn't. Unfortunately my daughter just tonight told me the same thing she's just twelve I don't know what to do.

I am suffering with the same problem....it was a common matter in my childhood....everything seemed to be so far away....and i have an extra problem...that I could hear everything loud....even the sound of wall clock was too loud. It happened when I was in the bed at night...every thing was like scolding me....even the sound of my movement in the bed....when someone was talking at that time....that was like they were very angry with me(including every sound). But I had the ability to create the situation(of course at night). But it's not happening now-a-days(recently 2 months ago but before that 6 years it was not happening).

Hi there, its very interesting to read about this. My 9 year old son has recently been experiencing these same symptoms. How ever in the last week he had been having some fevers and head aches. He also suffers from night terrors. Was wondering if your daughter has ever had night terrors? Ive read that they are more common in boys though.

I used to experience the same thing as a child..especially at bedtime, my door seemed to be so far away and my mum on my bed consoling me was near but far?? Sounds strange i know. I know i used to have febrile convulsions as a child..are they linked? Im now 40 yrs old and looking at possible autism, my son is diagnosed autistic and adhd and i just feel it and get it but im also confused xx

This sounds about right. I used to suffer from this quite often a child. I used to get very high fevers which led to seizures as a baby and infant. Once I got a bit older, I had the high fevers and feelings of
"things looking and sounding far away"... pretty positive this is a side effect of running a higher temperature. Some fever reducing medications and staying hydrated should help.

I'm 30 year old now . It happened quite often on me when I was younger . and getting lesser and lesser when I go old . But still happen once in a while , and its happening now 26 June 2017 , things seem far away and very small, but still very clear . It can last for an hour

yeah, i'm barely a teenager now and used to get this all the time, 3-5 a month so it was common. everything looks really far away, things sketch out, and when i touch anything my hands feel swollen and it may hurt to grab anything. i never said anything because i thought it was just me, i told my parents but they didn't do much, and i realized this may be a real thing when i was describing it to one of my friends and he finished my sentences as i described it to him. i'm really curious about this..

I deal with the exact same thing. Usually I get it when I'm sick or getting sick. It got better as I got older but it still happens a little once a year or so.

The same thing usually occurs when I am sick or afterwards, usually in the night I will wake up so see everything tiny or far away and I get very confused and everything seems almost to be amplified
