November 2nd I found out I was pregnant at the ER with HCG levels at 1468. 2 days later, my HCG dropped to 485. That's when the nurse told me over the phone that I had a miscarriage. On November 12, I went in for my my 3rd blood draw to make sure my HCG was going down the way it should and instead it went UP! My HCG shot up to 762! Does anyone know what would cause my HCG to drop and go back up?

It could be a bad reading, the first time. A mistake in the lab.
It happens.
Check with the doctor to see how they want to handle this.

Hmm I never even thought of that possibility. I did just come back from another blood draw and won't find out until Monday if my HCG levels have gone up or dropped again. Until then, I just have to wait! I also have an ultra sound appointment on wed, so they can get a closer look. I do want to mention, at the ER, I also had heavy bleeding and abdominal pain, but all that has gone away, and I don't feel pregnant anymore.. That's why I'm confused why my HCG spiked up. I really hope this is because I had a vanishing twin!
