Yes it works and it's awesome. I didn't really have any side affects that I noticed, apart from a bit of sleeplessness the first few nights, but it settled down very quickly. Helped me lose all my baby weight and more before my wedding. I was also excercising but was at a point where the weight was hard to budge. Definately recommend!!

Hi, I just read your post and am curious as this is my first time on duromine 40mg, how you managed to loose the weight within 4 days that drastically and what your overall weight loss was. I've been on the 30mg before and did have that effect for the first week but then my body was used to it I felt as though I hadn't taken anything. Now months after I'm trying the 40mg and on my 2nd day, eating salads and chicken, fruits and lots of water and green tea. Exercising but curious if you have any pointers/suggestions?

Am 27 yrs n weigh 94kg i picked up 20 kg last year after having my first child.being over weight has depressed n crippled me.i dont go out i lost my self confidence n get embarassed when i meet friends.i tried all sorts ot diets but the temptation always wins.i researched about duromine n saw that i can deal with the side effects more than the pain and shame of been obese.i started on 15mg 3 days ago and it worked straight away.i ate three small meals for the day n had to force it.i havent weighed my self n not worried about the scale am so happy i eat less n have no cravings.the only side effect is headache late at night plus sleeping late.i need duromine as a start!

I've lost about 23kgs using Duromine to help me do the right things to lose that weight i.e. eat less and still have the energy to get through the day and do some moderate exercise (without being so grumpy that my family run and hide when they see me coming). For me it's a great drug, not something I want to be on any longer than a few months but worth the side effects (which were relatively minor and manageable). If I had any advice for you I'd say stop being so down on yourself ...you didn't get overweight from sitting on your butt eating pizza and watching TV, you had a child ...those little buggers screw with your body something terrible. Screw what other people think about you (and they almost certainly don't think what you think they do anyway)...it's what you think about you that counts ....and now you're making a move to get things sorted out and get happier ...so 'good work, go you!'. Physically my advice is eat well, eat regularly, graze all day on small healthy snacks if you can make that work with your lifestyle. Do some form of exercise and by that I mean anything, go for a walk, spend 10 minutes on an exercise bike, clean the house, wash the car ...just try and move more ...you'll usually find a time that the drug is really zipping you along, try and take advantage of that ...for me it's about 3 hours after I've taken it. If you have side effects that concern you then skip a day or two ....it won't hurt in the long run. I'm astounded at the number of people who say they didn't sleep for 4 or 5 days ....good grief people ...1 day without sleep is enough to stop and then skip a day and try again. Consistency is the key, it gets tedious and you will have days when for no apparent reason your weight will jump up ...those days suck...but on the whole the downward trend will persist. Don't feel bad about using this drug to help you through the tough part ...it works (for most people) and it certainly sounds like you're doing the right thing for you ...and that's great. You'll do it ... just remember to stop and notice the good changes...when I lost 23kgs my wife told me I'd lost to much but I still couldn't see it....you have to get out of the habit of looking at yourself in a critical light. You're on good path, be optimistic ....

Hi guys :) I used duromine about 5 months ago as I was 160cm tall and 87 kilos so I thought I'd share my experience. I was on 40mg and I spaces a month course over two months and lost 18kg and am now sitting on a tidy 69kg. I'm still a curvy girl but I am so much happier with my body and it has done wonders and I have kept it off for a number of months now without being strict with myself. I still like to have a healthy diet in general as bad foods make me feel sick very quickly. My number one word of advice to everyone using this is please be very careful with the activities you partake in whilst you're on the course. I had many ups and downs with this drug but when carefully monitored it can be a very good boost. I know not everyone here will or does do this but I'm sure some or at least one do but here is warning #1 recreational or 'party' drugs whilst on or recently off duromine are a BIG NO NO. They are terrible things to begin with but because the duromine is addictive (but controllable) on its own, if you take party drugs you will end up HOOKED! I luckily didnt but the few times I did it I found myself wanting more and really had to pull in the reigns. Warning #2 eating junk food on duromine personally made me sweat like an animal so use it's appetite suppressing properties to your advantage and use it to change your lifestyle and eating habits so that when you come off it you don't put it all back on. Warning #3 if you have had duromine that day, I do not recommend any alcohol. The three times I did it I got to three drinks before I was hugging the toilet bowl and my final warning #4 is for the ladies out there in a relationship whilst taking duromine, you may not feel like the side effects are happening but if you find yourself fighting with your partner, take a step back and remember the drug you are taking. It is very powerful and can effect your emotions a lot so even if you don't feel like you are getting overly emotional about something you may not realize the way you are acting because of the drug. Overall, be mindful, be careful and enjoy your weightloss journey. Although it was a bit of a roller coaster ride, this has been the most effective method for me! Thanks for reading!

I'm 1.82 , a guy .... and weights 108kg so decided to take duromine and after 2 weeks, my weight maintain at 104kg, well, i believe my weight still going down, but please take note that those on duromine, basically, you will feel nothing for all foods or drinks.. but remind yourself to drink alot of water and take some food in between and also to me, Duromine works well with some execrise ... you will realise that you lose works faster then on the pills alone .

Hi, i am losing the weight slowly but surely. I lost more centimetres than kilos. I must admit it only affected my sleep on day three (I was lying awake most of the night). Other than that I only get a bit grumpy, but not sure if this is PMS or the Duromine, since I started with the 15mg. I am beginning to wonder what the 30mg will be like to use. All and all I am watching what I eat and staying clear of alcohol. Good luck every one!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to answer your question - i have been on Duromine 30mg & 40mg for almost 3 months now and it really does work!I have been a huge yo yo dieter all of my life and just wanted to try something new, but I made sure I did all the research beforehand.

It is hard to get from the doctor unless you are really overweight. When I started I was overweight, but not obese. I went to my normal GP, however he would not prescribe it to me so I had to try and find a doctor who would....

Just a word of advice - if you suffer from an addiction or anxiety this is not for you.

Good Luck!

Hello all! I'm excited to see a forum about this that still has recent(ish) posts!

I am 24 years old, 164cm tall and I started my weight loss journey at 73kgs. I know I'm not obese, but I am overweight!

The reason I am taking duromine is because I have chronic back pain, which means that I am unable to exercise. Hopefully this will change in the future, but while i'm waiting for a specialist appointment (possibly years away) my GP and I decided that less weight means less strain on my back, which should mean less pain. I moved from the city to the country 2 years ago and have put on 10+kgs which really hasnt helped me! I changed my eating habits slightly a month ago and have been taking 1 meal replacement shake a day and lost almost 4kgs, so i'm currently 69.5kgs. My doctor gave me a script for Duromine yesterday, which i found to be $107! so i'm really hoping this works, since i'm only on a disability pension! Today is my first day taking Duromine 30mg, i took it at 8:40 this morning after reading the previous comments about taking it early. I was told to take it after breakfast, but i did notice most people on here took it before. It has been 3 hours so far and i havent noticed any side effects, maybe a tiny increase in energy levels. but after changing my diet so rapidly over the last month (no pasta, potato, rice, bread, less carbs, smaller meals etc) i have had zero energy for the last week. I'm hoping Duromine will give me a kick-start to losing the kgs, my goal is 60kgs so i will have less weight to carry around and still be in a healthy BMI range, plus still have some curves! I'm going back to my doctor in a month to see how i'm going (unless i have any really bad reactions then i will be seeing him asap, fingers crossed i dont!) i'm not going to weight myself until i see my doctor again, so i give it a good go before getting dicouraged. So i'll check back in a month and if this forum is still alive i'll let people know how i went!

Goodluck to all and please keep posting your stories! i'm doing this weight loss alone and love to read peoples journey. :)
