Does this mean i have broken my hymen?

I used a tampon for the first time in a while and left it in for a long while when i tryed to take it out i was in alot of pain and realized there was skin around it it ended up ripping does this mean i have broken my hymen ? Because i cldnt tell if i was bleeding because i already had my period i was in a bit of pain at the time !
