I am a 40 yr old male and over the past few years I have noticed my testicles or the sack which hold them has increased in size and length. I have to constantly resposition them be fore driving, riding a motorcycle or just sitting watching television. What is the casue and waht could be done to make it smaller or nornal size ?
Generally, the length and condition of the scrotum is controlled by heat and climate.

However, if you are having pain or discomfort from the dangling testicles, you can have your doctor give you an exam and discuss options. Surgery might be one option.

However, unless you have great pain or it is affecting your life, keeping you from functioning, it's doubtful if it'll happen.

That is, I don't think a medical person would recommend surgery without a real medical or strong need to perform it. However, there are more an more cosmetic surgeries begin done in all kinds of places these days... but I'm sure that insurance coverage in those cases becomes an issue. :-(

same here right after a vasectomy. if it stays long like this, I'll have to wear a supporter regularly or at least tight underwear. no more boxers.

Frankly, I've never quite understood the appeal of boxer shorts over jockey shorts.... unless it's a feeling of freedom and quicker access...

The few times that I've worn them instead of jockey shorts, I start to get an ache on one side or the other... and they are usually "holiday shorts" or felt or warm fuzzy "joke" shorts as a Xmas, valentines or romantic gift from my wife.... the unusually free access acting as an invitation to foreplay by one or the other of us.

I know some men require more support than others... and some prefer "having the boys hanging out their in the breeze" to quote TV character Kramer from "Seinfeld"...

But I've never really given it much thought beyond that.

What do the rest of you say?

Yeah, as a child, I didn't wear them, but when I got married, the wife insisted since she said tighty-whities aren't sexy. They probably reminded her of dad.

I've been wearing boxers for over a decade now and it is what you said; the freedom, air, and quicker access. When I wear the briefs now, I feel really hot and sweaty down there. But now, I'll be wearing the briefs until I'm fully recovered from the vasectomy.

I strongly urge you to try out the Jockey 3D-Innovations briefs, midway briefs, etc. There is nothing like them for support , comfort etc. Check them out at jockey.com

I recently returned from Hawaii, where our tour bus driver lamented the closing of the only JCPenny store in the islands. He swears by the whitey tighty JCPenny men's underwear.

I prefer the Stafford brand, marketted at JCPenny and had just bought a pack just one size too small, which I was carrying as a back-up on our trip. I proudly gave them to him as a parting gift in the sealed package.

(I just wanted to share that I prefer jockey style underwear from JCPenny instead of boxer prints, but leave it to you all to discuss as you like.)

I too am a motorcycle owner/rider. I am a 66-year-old man, but whenever I am ready to go ride, I generally will wear a standard issue men's jock-strap, no underwear. Join the club. As men get older, generally in their early 40s, the testicles tend to hang much lower than when we were young. This is because a man's testicles continue to grow, gaining size and weight as we age. Our skin begins to lose elasticity, especially our scrotum. So yes, it is normal as we get older to have lower-hanging testicle. I look at the big-low-hangers as a right of passage, something to be proud of. This is not something a man should be ashamed of.
