My wife is suffering from high cholesterol for a year. This condition damaged her health and normal life. After some discussion she went to a doctor and got a medicine. She got lovastatin. This drug should help her to be better. Now she is feeling weak, and has pains in her muscles. After some checking the diagnose was drug induced myopathy. What is that?
My mother had the same problem. Instead of getting better she get worse. She also got drug induced myopathy. It is a non inflammatory skeletal weakness. People usually report increasing difficulty with every day tasks, such as getting up from a chair, climbing steps, stepping onto a curb, lifting object or combing hair. This condition can be treated but not cured.
