My husband had been having the same problem for about a year, as any woman would tell you. I thought he was cheating and had gotten an STD. I switched laundry detergent to the baby detergent. Also, we bought new cotton boxers. He has used some feminine product for yeast infection, and vaseline. At night he sleeps naked making sure his scrotum gets plenty of air. He has seen a difference this past 2 wks. Also, no sexual intercourse. If your have a partner have them douche. I hope everyone gets better soon.

You need to visit dr. Genital dermatitis must be treated with steroids and antihistamines. Antifungal creams only make it worse. I got to stage 4 before I got to dr. Worse pain I have ever felt

The only treatment for genital dermatitis is steroids and antihistamines. Antifungal cream may make it not itch but it actually makes the problem much worse.

I had a severe case once scrotum, shaft and inner thighs had a severe rash skin peeling and white stuff. I tried creams up the yin yang to no avail. Nothing seemed to work. I was in the hospital for something else for a week and I asked a nice British older doctor. He said when he was a soldier in ww2 they used to use aftershave letting it burn and dry then slap on some talcum powder and the rash would clear up in no time. My dad went and bought the aftershave and baby powder. I used it for 2 weeks and everything cleared up. The burning was terrible and the baby powder soothing but it smelled really nice. The baby powder also reduced friction from swinging balls rubbing on your thighs. Guaranteed to work good luck!

Unfortunately you had sex with a female with a yeast infection and didn't wash your sack immediately after. Take a bath, pour 91% alcohol in water twice a day for 2-3 days. Stretch scrotum skin (gently) and wash. Problem solved!!!!! Next time trust your body.... After sex that urge to urinate is nature letting you know to get up and wash these juices off... Good luck.

I believe this caused mostly by something very simple...getting dressed after showering without drying area properly.
Try it! It works a treat!

For about 10 years, I've had the same problem. For me, it only occurs in the winter time. Within the last week or so, I've been using an over the counter hydrocortisone ointment. It's a damn miracle!! Try it!!

Have same problem. Found that after a shower and thoroughly drying the area, dab on a hydrogen peroxide solution. It helps with the itch and is a good antiseptic. Then, use a liberal amount of vasoline; which also helps with the itch and blocks the oxygen to the area that fungus needs to grow. Give it a try. I've tried all kinds of jock itch sprays and creams that contain Clotrimazole and Terbinafine hydrochloride, antifungals with minimal results. The hydrogen peroxide and vasoline is clearing things up. Also stay away from using products that contain corn starch which is a food source for fungus. They may give temporary relief but in the long term will makes things much worse.

Here's what's worked for me:
*DON'T ITCH* This is key. Any damage you cause to the skin will only make things worse.
- Clean the area with Ivory twice a day, once in the morning, once at night. Ivory because it's closest to the body's natural PH
- Liberal application of anti-perspirants to keep the area as dry as possible
- Regular application of A+D ointment to keep the area protected
- Regular use of Eucerin to keep the skin nourished
I think my condition has also been made worse by psoriasis, which is why I have to be very careful not to damage the skin, or I will get psoriatic outbreaks on top of everything else.
However, the underlying cause may have been the fact that I've been getting really sweaty down there for the last couple of years. I think the constant sweating was throwing off the oil balance in my skin there and causing it to get thin, dry and crack. It took about a week to start seeing results with the new regimen, but started getting much better after 2 weeks. I'm on week 4, and it will still get a little itchy, especially at night, but it is SIGNIFICANTLY better! I feel like a human being again, and the skin looks and feels almost entirely healthy.
But I've found it is important to be diligent about the routine. I slacked after the first remission and things started to get bad within a week. So don't skip!
One other thing I've used that help with the itching is: Aspercreme maximum strength with Lidocane, it helps numb things down. The other is Tiger Balm muscle rub which does the chemical cooling. If you are raw from scratching, this will burn like hell so don't use it.
Also, sleep on your back with no underwear, knees spread to get as much air to the area as possible.
Also: keep hydrated, and I've taken Flax seed oil and zinc supplements, and use a hand-held Narrowband UVB light on the area.
I hope this helps. Hang in there brothers. I feel your pain.
