I think that you should believe to your doctor. After all she is the one who has finished school to know what is good for you and your baby. One of my friends was using duphaston during her pregnancy and she had mild side effects and she believes that it helped her. But the other friend was feeling way bigger side effects so she had stop.
After carefully reading the product label we have found out that duphaston can cause gastro-intestinal disturbances, allergic skin rashes or urticaria, changes in libido, acne, fluid retention, mass gain, mental depression and breast changes.
Duphaston should not use people with cardiovascular, renal or hepatic impairment, diabetes mellitus, asthma, epilepsy and migraine.
So after all this I am sure that you don’t want to continue with duphaston but if you still can’t decide maybe you should seek another opinion. Let us know about the results.
I think Duphaston is a good tablet.I personally am using it.it was prescribed by my Doctor.a Doctor would not tell you to take something that he knows is not good for you and your baby.please have trust in your doctor and believe that everything will be fine.and also trust in God for he knows what is good for us.
thanx

Thanks for your information regarding the side effects of Duphaston.
The long term effects on the baby can be found in wiki answer.
For months, I and my diet have been blamed for my own liver upset, allergy rashes, and depression. But now that I've read your information, I feel somewhat more confident in myself again. You have no idea how much it means to me.
I am currently prescribed Duvadilan, and feeling very skeptical again. But on the 5th month of my pregnancy now, I've learnt my lessons and will try to refrain from taking any non-vitamin medications, without researching over the internet first, no matter who prescribed it.
Please, keep the information flowing, it would certainly help many mothers-to-be out there who are just trying their best to fight the pregnancy discomforts without unnecessary medications. Of course, to us who truely wants the best for the infant, we would not press it and might just take the prescribed meds anyway if we find it necessary. But at least we'd know the consequences instead of taking everything just like that.
So again, Thank you.
even through now i am also having same feeling, what she told about duphoston tablet, wat can i do now, my doctor adived me at 1 month, to take this medicine till 3rd month.
I am 4 weeks and 2 days my doctor aske dme to take two tablets of duphaston daily and aspirin one tablets..lets keep to what our dr. says..
I took duphaston twice daily for 20 weeks with my son an am taking them again this time. I also take aspirin once daily. My obs is one of the best in my country so I think that she is not crazy. I always follow her advice since I had 2 miscarriages and a still birth before my son. So i think that duphaston helped me a lot in carrying my son to term and am now 16 + weeks.
Recently I was prescribed with Duphaston 3 tabs daily for 12 weeks but unfortunately my baby died at only six weeks. I was upset and went to another doctor who told me that duphaston is not safe during pregnancy period unless there is any bleeding and that 3 tabs in a day is quite dangerous for my womb. Please refer to other doctors before taking it.
Hello There!
I am here because i had a miscarriage just last month and I was wondering if my decision of choosing not to take duphaston which was prescribed by my Doc might contribute to the death of my baby.
But I would like to narrate my story in this journey of seeking to have children. I got married two years ago and since then we have been trying to get pregnant but without any success. Few months after our wedding i decided to go for check up. My doc asked me to do ultrasound and when the result came out i was diagnosed with ovarian cyct and one small fibroid of less than 1 cm in size. She prescribed Depo-Provera to treat the cyst. After six months of taking Depo-Provera inj, the result of ultrasound shows that i have numerous fibroids and the largest is 6.4cm. It was then that i went to research and got the understanding that Depo-provera which is birth control inj causes increase in number and size of fibroids.
My main point is that research could be really helpful some time. If I had research before taking the inj, there is high probability that i wont be having the problem im having presently because now my fibroids affected my baby from growing normally.
Thank you
Hello friends, My doctor prescribed Duphaston twice a day when I was 5 weeks 3 days pregnant because I was feeling slight heaviness in my lower abdomen. But, after taking tablets for 3 days, I started developing itchy and red patches on hands and legs. Even after taking Citrizen for 2 days, swelling and red patches continued to appear. I stopped all medication immedistely. I am very much worried about my pregnancy now and I hope there has been no damage caused to my foetus.
Hi Everyone:
I read your Duphaston posts by accident and thought I'd like to share my experience. My husband and I have been trying to have children for more than 3 years now but without success. I am on my 3rd IVF treatment and 7 weeks pregnant. Everything looks good so far. I've been on Duphaston (10mg) for more than 2 months now. I EXPERIENCE NO SIDE EFFECTS. I'm told that most women suffer the typical symptoms such as nausea but I don't have any of those. My own brother is a doctor but I'm a skeptic myself and usually stay away from medication. I don't even take cough medicine. I simply rely on getting extra sleep, minimizing stress, taking more Vitamin C, drinking more water than normal etc. If I had a choice, I wouldn't take Duphaston but I believe that it has helped me to maintain this pregnancy so far. It's the only hormone aid that I'm taking right now. Before, I was put on Estradiol and Progynova TOGETHER with Duphaston. I'm now purely on Duphaston until my ob-gyne says so. Based on my ultrasound 2 days ago, my twins have healthy heartbeats :)
take the drug as prescribed by your dr !
