Hello, folks. My son is eight years old. The thing that worries me is that he is still afraid of sleeping in the dark. I think that he has turned certain age when he should sleep without his light on. Can anyone tell me what to do with him? Is there any good advice? I would appreciate it.

Hello. Kids have very lively imagination. When the lights go out, they imagine some different things. You should be aware of stories that you read your kid before the bedtime. These stories should be relaxing and not threatening for the kid. You should talk to your kid about his fears from the dark, but do that during the daytime. When your kid goes to bed, ask him where he thinks that monsters are hiding. When he tells you, check that place and show him that there is nothing hiding on that place. There are other things you can do. If you find it necessary, take your kid to a psychologist. Good luck!
