My husband has not been able to obtain and keep an erection for over a year now. Previously, he was able to get an erection but it would only last for a few minutes. Due to his inability to keep the erection he won't even attempt to have sex. He has tried many different stimulants, such as porn (both computer and television), and mastrubation (just to the point of climax) but nothing seems to work. He was prescribed a form of viagra but won't take it as he says it gives him a headache. I am so frustrated because he won't even make any attempts at sex. Has anyone out there had any similar situations and what did you do to get through it?????

Has your husband had any issues at work or any sort of stress, or did he perhaps injure himself? It sounds to me like the underlying issue isn't the erectile dysfunction but an issue of feeling comfortable with each other. I think that because he has this problem, he might be feeling inadequate but he's afraid to communicate that to you! Have you considered any couples counseling, or talking to him about it? I think it might be a good idea. I'm just throwing some ideas out there for you. Hopefully it goes well with you.
